Multiple bugs (new and old) in version 13.25

Hello,

I am encountering multiple bugs in version 13.25.

1. Background images are not displayed with the BigBox “3-DIMENSIONS” theme. They appear fine with “VisioN.” All the themes are up to date.

2. I use music tracks that I prioritize over the sound of the videos. When the first track ends, BigBox does not move on to the next one. I no longer have any sound.

3. Problem already reported but not fixed: When I use the screen saver, when the video uses WMP AND when my soundtrack is prioritized over the video sound, I have no sound in the screen saver! Neither the soundtrack nor the video sound. If I play the video in FFmpeg OR disable prioritization, I no longer have a soundtrack in the screensaver BUT the sound from the videos is present.

4. Just a question here, I haven't had the opportunity to test it sufficiently, but has the “spontaneous shutdown” issue been investigated? The latest beta didn't fix the problem for me. It was less prevalent in WMP than in FFmpeg, but still present. I didn't see anything in the announcement about this issue, hence my question. I have an RTX 3060 Ti and will soon be switching to an RTX 5060 Ti, so if it's due to my card model (which is a guess I've seen sometimes), I'll soon find out.

Finally, I must say, unfortunately, that even though I love Launchbox/Bigbox and have the utmost respect for your work, I am increasingly disappointed with its development.
The software for which I purchased a license at the time certainly had fewer features, BUT lit was more reliable.
The more time passes, the more I feel that you are adding features, such as importing via stores, an android version, etc. but the less it works... Personally, I would prefer that you focus on stability.
Honestly, I don't understand how it's possible to have a version 13.25 full of bugs that were not present in version 13.25 beta 3...
I hope that these issues will be resolved over time, but honestly, I'm starting to consider alternatives, which saddens me, in addition to forcing me to abandon the extensive customization work I've done on LB/BB.

I have issues importing games on Epic. I just recently obtained 4 new games on Epic and when importing to LB I just get the no new games found window instead of before it was the checkbox screen showing all the games it sees. At least before I was able to check the box even if LB was wrong about having new games. Now I can't import my new games. I much rather have the checkbox screen with them all unchecked instead of this screen not giving me the chance now to select my new games.

Also, when importing media for games, Steam videos no longer shows up for any game. I double checked multiple to make sure steam had videos, for example Battlefield 6.

Hi! After the Big Box update, the wheel disappeared, and the fan art backgrounds also disappeared. Is there any way to revert to the previous beta? I had just deleted the downloads of the previous betas...

These are both known issues.

Absolutely not looking to pile on, but I would like to piggyback on this thread.  The only bug I've found so far is similar to JaredN's #2.  In Bigbox, my music playlist doesn't play anything after the first track or so.  Everything else seems to work fine, but that's a nice feature that I hope can get patched.

I log in often for free games, so if there was a terms I would have accepted whenever it happened. But I logged in anyway to double check but there was no acknowledgments. However I attempted again today just to see and the checkboxes showed up. And all my  missing games showed up, though it didn't initially have them checked like normal. No clue what happened there. At least I can add these several more games
So all seems good again.

Hi Folks,  sorry for the delayed response here and thanks for taking the time to report these. We really appreciate the feedback here and it's totally valid, we know we slipped up with the 13.25 release, a lot of things slipped through that shouldn't have and apologies for any issues caused there. We outlined a bit around that in our 13.25 known issues post here:
 

However, a new beta for 13.26 that directly addresses most of the issues reported in 13.25 has just gone live, include issues you mentioned such as:

• Missing backgrounds in Big Box
• Vertical wheel issues
• Issues with music and screensaver mode in Big Box
• Soundtrack priority issues

 

We understand not everything may be addressed (i.e we know there are still issues with Steam trailers which requires a bigger re-write), but we're aiming to focus this next release on as many fixes as possible.
