About This File

This is a complement to my recent Intellivision controller images upload. It adds those controller overlays to the fantastic work of @Mr. RetroLust and their fantastic Lights Off bezels, specifically the 1970s CRT. I did do some editing to their bezel -- lightening the reflection, flipping the bezel horizontally, darkening everything, and adding the appropriate channel #3 -- but got their approval to include it in this release. Many many thanks to @MrRetrolust for their work and inspiration!

How To Set Up
Included in the zip download are all the image and config files you'll need, stored in the folders you need to copy them into. Note that your game files need to have the same naming structure for them to automatically show the bezels. My titles are based on the way LaunchBox scraped the data when I set up Intellivision so you *should* be good if you did the same.

retroarch\config\FreeIntv
These files tell Retroarch to automatically apply each overlay when the game is launched, so you don't have to manually set each one.

retroarch\overlays\GameBezels\Intellivision
You may need to create the GameBezels and Intellivision folders. I believe several other bezel packs also utilize this folder structure. These are the images and config files for each game. If you wanted to tweak any of my designs, this is where you would do it.

Sources & Design
The image of the Intellivision controller comes from Ricky Romero on Dribbble. I edited it to cover the game overlays somewhat realistically and add some shadowing effects. There are additional darkening and shadow effects applied to the on-screen overlays so they don't stand out quite as much.

The overlays themselves come from various sources but were mainly copied from intvfunhouse.com (and by extension, Psycho Stormtrooper and the LaunchBox Games Database).

Very little editing has been done to the overlays to clean them up. Some received a basic sharpening, some blemishes were cleaned up, and the tops of a few were split apart so the titles show more legibly above the frame. These are NOT meant to look 100% exactly like they do when nestled in a real Intellivision controller.

Unique Overlays
Most Intellivision games came with two identical overlays for Player 1 and Player 2, but some ambitious releases used unique designs and functions across multiple overlays. In these cases you can see an additional controller peeking out from behind the front one. That's an indication that there are more than one overlays for that title and you can find the rest in my Intellivision controller images upload.

I've downloaded this multiple times I get unexpected end of archive and cannot extract it. Could you check on your end possibly. I attempted repair of the archive as a zip now all the files get a checksum error.

Glad to hear it! Do let me know what you think when you get to try it out. This is my first submission of a bezel pack.

I have tried them they look good the only thing I would do it make it a tad lighter I sit right next to a 65 inch 4k display and you cannot see the tv very well. In your first screen shot you can see some of the tv control panel but when I use it it is very dark. Also some of the overlays you use are very pixelated a light surface blur then a unsharp mask would make them prisitine. Thank you for sharing this. I had a lot of problems getting it to work because your roms are named different than mine all of mine have blah blah (World). I am not going to use these overlays but I look forward to seeing the pause menu you are working on I think it would be beautiful to be able to pull up the overlays on the fly. All in all pretty awesome.

cheers :)

Thanks for the comments and your patience getting it set up, I appreciate it.

I personally like bezels to be very dark and not distract my eye from the game as much so I made them much darker than Mr. Retrolust's original. Sorry that first image was deceiving.
I'd love to spend more time some day finding really good scans of all the overlays but I had a hard time finding many at all while working on this.

I'm going to not clean them they are such basic designs I'll upscale them to 5000px and you and I can fix the text and a few logos and we'll have a pristine set. I'm just going to check the ones I've done to your list. Just to let you know I'm not full certain but most sets for the intellivision are marked (World) I do not think there was different release via region.

That's gorgeous! I was finally *playing* some Intellivision games yesterday and went looking for a manual and found another site I hadn't turned up before: https://annarchive.com/intellivision_overlays.html has what looks like a more consistent, somewhat higher quality set of overlays.

Previously I was using these http://www.intvfunhouse.com/overlays/table.php which has a lot of variations and revisions as well. It's been so long I'm not sure where my set of ROMs came from and how they got to be titled the way they are.

Sorry to hear that @djweevil666. Take care and best of luck to you and the family!

Take a look at this guy's Flickr account when you can. Not scans but very high-res photos of loads of Intellivision stuff. Here is a direct link to Zaxxon: https://www.flickr.com/photos/13839114@N00/49918201977/in/photostream/

Otherwise, these are still the only 2 scans I could find:
