About This File

I've spent years recreating the Nintendo G&W boxes....it started as an exercise to see how far I could push PowerPoint - but became an obsession. I've now completed the fronts, backs, logo's and spines. I've included 6 files:

  • 59 G&W Box - Front - Reconstructed: "Good to Go" - Just drop in your LB folder
  • 59 G&W Box - Back - Reconstructed: "Good to Go" - Just drop in your LB folder
  • 59 G&W Clear Logo's: "Good to Go" - Just drop in your LB folder
  • 59 G&W Box - Spine: "Good to Go" - Just drop in your LB folder (noting that BigBox seems to incorrectly handle the depth, so I've proportionally "squished" these so they appear correct)

  • Full G&W Logo's (all the logo's and variants I recreated)
  • Full G&W Reconstructed Fronts and Backs (all the front and backs I recreated - including various 1st / 2nd / 3rd artwork issues and the UK, France, Germany, Belgium (I believe), Australia and Argentina artworks)

For the "Super Mario Bros: Special Edition" - please see the comments as I've adding the case and logo there (to save re-uploading the whole 7z again)

It's always the same and it revolts me to see so much work and no one on 20 downloads to leave just a like or even just a little trace to say "hey thanks man"! -_-
Well done !

Brave to have spent so much time on this project and especially to have completed it!

Nostalgic for these dual screens🥰

Thanks @PaDeMoNiuM - yes - I've actually got an original Donkey Kong Multi Screen....bought a replica box just to store it. There was something about these games in the day :)

Great job on these buddy.. and the others you done. Atari is looking good right now too :)

You're more than welcome. As others have said - I do it for the challenge / creativity of it :) (I've certainly pushed PowerPoint to the limits and now have a far better grasp on Photoshop than I started out with).

Holy smokes! I can't even begin to fathom how long and how much work went into all this, and to the quality you have done it. Not to mention variants etc and somehow you re-created all those elements. It's insane. (I've done some work on this system in the past, all those different size boxes!) So much care and love has gone into this. My hats off to you truly, this is some absolutely epic work. Well done, a great gift for all of us G&W fans and the community 🤘

Hi @Indyj - thank you. Yes - it took years :)

I started it because I thought PowerPoint would be good for most of the shapes and I'd be able to screen grab MAME to isolate the LCD characters. For the objects I couldn't (easily) recreate in PowerPoint - I created templates e.g. (for Donkey Kong)

Donkey Kong Unit Screen (top left, bottom right) Template.png

I'm not sure what's more impressive, the sheer amount of work or that how much you achieved in Powerpoint! Even as a graphic designer I avoid that program like the plague! Guess it just needs to fall into the right hands to make awesome stuff :) So yeah well done mate. Appreciate you taking me through your process.
