  1. Those aren't games : Bootloader BASIC v1.0 Bootloader BASIC v1.1 Bootloader BASIC v2.0 Bootloader BASIC v2.1 U should either hide them from your platform or delete them from launchbox. Not every zip in a software list is a game. That can also vary, some have tools, utilities, programs,... Next time, use Joe's plugin to import your mame SL roms That way, u will have the correct name for the rom u imported into LB. This just needs to know the location of the HASH directory. U can find those in your mame\hash folder. Point it to aquarius_cart.xml Also,...always check those xml files, cause sometimes it will tell u if there are extra things to do. Like as u say, import or load an extra rom into a cart slot. Many software lists are keyboard only, but some will already have joystick controls mapped. If they don't,...then u either do it game by game, or u use a set of five configs which u can use in games (ofcourse u need to know/find out which cfg setting to use), or u may get lucky and all games use sort-off the same keys, in which case u can do with one cfg file. U can tell mame which cfg file to use by passing it -cfg_directory "d:\mame\cfg\aquarius\az_config.cfg" (as an example)
  2. Ok, here we go. For the aquarius there are two software lists u could try out. aquarius_cart aquarius_cass Easiest to run are mostly always the flop and cart, cause they mostly don't need anything more than just the correct commandline In my LB I have the aquarius_cart My game dir: D:\LaunchBox\Games\Mattel Aquarius\aquarius_cart If u decide to copy the zip's to another directory, always make sure to use exact same naming as u will find in the mame software lists. In this case...use the 'aquarius_cart' folder. It really doesn't matter what the higher level folder is called...just that the zips are in the same folder as what is known in mame. Then...mame itself. Each mame software list after running a game on it will create an ini file. That will always happen, even if u don't run a game. So through command line : mame.exe aquarius That will create an aquarius.ini in your mame root folder It is always wise to just boot the system first...cause that will do the check to see if the system boots and if it finds your bios files (it default looks for them in the roms directory in mame folder) If mame.exe [systemname], or in this case 'mame aquarius' already throws an error...at least u then know that u first have to locate the correct bios and copy it over to your roms directory further Items of importance in the ini rompath "roms;D:\LaunchBox\Games\Mattel Aquarius" keyboardprovider dinput For rompath...that is always seperated with a ; for each new path. In my case,...it has roms...(which is the roms directory in the MAME directory) and it has my main folder for the aquarius_cart files. Basically telling mame...look for either aquarius_cart, or aquaris_cass from within that folder. If your bios files are in another directory, then your rompath would change Lets say u decide to keep all MAME bios files in following directory D:\Mamebios and your aquarius mame SL zips are in D:\Games\Mattel\aquarius_cart then your rompath would be : rompath "D:\Mamebios;D:\Games\Mattel" But for portability, best to just keep the mame bios roms in the mame roms directory. For aquarius u will need to look for the following bios files the second one...that must be from a merged set. Cause I don't have that in mine. Anyway, copy those zips to your roms directory If done all this...and in a command window running mame aquarius boots the aquarius...then u are good to go! If u want to kind of get any idea of the correct command line. U can always check what mame itself says by using following commands: mame aquarius -listmedia mame aquarius -listslots With the listmedia...u know mame aquarius would expect -cart, -cart1, cass, cass1...(these can vary) Sometimes -cart will work, other times it needs -cart1...u will have to test that For aquarius however it is -cart1 To run the game aquariworm u would use following command : mame aquarius -cart1 aqworm If u set up everything as I described above...then mame does not need a fullpath to the game, no .zip, no quotes. Just the romname without extension so in launchbox for the emulator it would have this and in associated platforms Try this first and see how u manage. Cause there is still so much to tell of course...but this is the basis upon which u build for getting other mame SL's running.
  3. I think I have this running. Will let you know later when I can check my settings.
  4. Edit your mame.ini file and set: keepaspect 1 unevenstretch 1 aspect 7:8 Or if you want this only for vertical games, create a vertical.ini file in your MAME ini folder with those settings. MAME will automatically apply it to all vertical games. For horizontal games in MAME, you can create a horizont.ini file (note: MAME uses "horizont" not "horizontal") in your MAME ini folder with these settings: keepaspect 1 unevenstretch 1 aspect 12:7 Or test it with this command mame gamename -aspect 12:7 -unevenstretch
  5. @AlexDC22 : I've added them to the gamesDB
  6. Ok. Will do. Will let u know when I've added them all.
  7. About the sound. Try this About configuring controls.... Assuming you are testing the 'ARCADE' games in mame. Start a game. Press TAB Choose 'Input Settings' Now u can choose 2 ways to go. Either u configure your controller for just the game you are running. Then u have to choose 'Input Assignments (this system) Or u want to configure your controller for all mame games. Then u have to choose 'Input Assignments (general) In either of these screens u can map keys to your controller. (so make sure before running mame that your controller is on) If u want to change LEFT...then doubleclick that....and select the button or D-pad or any button on your controller to what u want to map the LEFT. And so on for every key u want to map. If u make an error...just go over the item again and press DELETE...this empties the mapping so u can start again. Or u can try grabbing mine...and just place it in your MAME\CFG folder This has all controllers configured. default.cfg
  8. @AlexDC22 : again, let me repeat myself. These are outstanding!!! Thanks for making them! Do u want me to add them to the gamesDB again? Like I did with your earlier ones?
  9. I once bought a washing machine from a big retail store which advertised as selling them. I was immediately hooked on that idea so I went to the bank and drew out 649$ and went to buy one. The store even had a delivery service, free of charge. I was over the moon. My excitement after that initial high started to slowly diminish. Reality kicked in hard. Turns out, not much washing was being done. I by then had decided to wait a few days and see if matters would improve. After a week passed that turned out not to be the case.🙁 The machine I bought still hadn't done any washing. Every time I went and checked on it, it just stood there. Not doing any washing. I swear there were even times I thought it was just taunting me. That was 5 years ago, and the list of things I will never-ever buy anymore have become legion.
  10. @WoodysrZ : Vampire Killer. Source material is not too good. Very much thanks for supplying it by the way. Guess this will have to do for now.
  11. @WoodysrZ : Football Manager. (one lighter backdrop variant, depends on BB theme u use I suppose but I might as well include it.) uploaded it to all platforms in gamesDB.
  12. @WoodysrZ : Nemesis 2
  13. didn't we already establish that several posts ago😁
  14. is that not just to having a cfg file in the folder RetroArch\config\emux (gb) which points to the overlay directory (RetroArch\overlays\GameBezels\GBC)? Here are my cfg files. I am not sure if that helps cause I don't know which bezels u have. Here's hoping u have the same ones. emux (gb).zip
  15. @d8thstar or more cleaned up versions? don't know the function of these so I hope I didn't mess anything up
  16. Was fine tuning my gce Vectrex collection and stumbled upon this thread. This and the frontbox ones Thanks Wally 😊 They are great.
  17. in these modern times, a lack of hard-drive space is the least of my problems 😁 but to each their own. If anyone wants to compress them, then by all means. Thanks for the tip by the way. I am sure it will be of use to people. Doing logo's is sometimes consuming enough depending what kind of artwork is available.
  18. Had to re-open older conversation cause I am experiencing exactly the same with emulating the Texas Instruments TI99_4A DOESNT WORK : retroarch.exe -f -L "cores\mame_libretro.dll" "ti99_4a" -cart "D:\LaunchBox\Games\Texas Instruments TI 99-4A\ti99_cart\anteater.zip" WORKS : retroarch.exe -f -L "cores\mame_libretro.dll" -cart "D:\LaunchBox\Games\Texas Instruments TI 99-4A\ti99_4a\anteater.zip" retroarch.exe -f -L "cores\mame_libretro.dll" "ti99_4a" -cart "D:\LaunchBox\Games\Texas Instruments TI 99-4A\ti99_4a\anteater.zip" retroarch.exe -f -L "cores\mame_libretro.dll" "D:\LaunchBox\Games\Texas Instruments TI 99-4A\ti99_4a\anteater.zip" What this tells me is that Retroarch expects the system name in the path. It doesn't need the specifics of the system name cause last option works. And yes...I also only experience this weird issue for cart games. For mame, I tend to keep my games in this structure d:\Texas Instruments TI 99-4A\ TI99_flop TI99_cart TI99_cass For Retroarch...this would thus cause problems cause for carts it looks like it expects the system name...and not the folders u have in a MAME SL set. I have no idea why it is like that. Just that it is very confusing.
  19. Your work is impeccable Jonny. But that original logo of Parodius has even on the actual box a washed out look. I won't upload this to the gamesDB, but if any user wants an alternate version of this, they can grab it here.
  20. How do I use this in Unified & Ultrawide? Is there some xaml file I can add or edit to enable these loading screens? thanks for your answer
  21. I'm using Unified ultrawide...these come in handy! Thanks for creating them. Since I don't see the 16:9 version I guess I will try to convert these myself to 16:9.
  22. Can confirm uploads working again. Also the one I uploaded and was showing wrong, is now fixed. All the others I have uploaded and are as of speaking accepted. So anyone I did logo's for, they are added to the gamesDB so if u pull in artwork from launchbox it should grab the new better versions.
  23. Thank u for your work. They are great and I was missing a couple of these. So thanks for completing my platform artwork for this system
