  1. Beautiful. Much more convenient than I was trying to make it. Usually the case. Thanks so much. Working Great!
  2. Thanks @C-Beats. I misunderstood and thought it only meant that you auto populated it the one time. Should have know better when there was a button to turn something off.
  3. Sorry meant to add the image As shown here the old nes playlists are the only ones showing up. None of the pictured playlists are showing.
  4. So I am trying to do some mass edits but I am noticing some of the auto generated (most all) are not showing up when I right click. I tried also unclicking auto generate playlist under auto populate. Maybe I don't need to do that and there is a way to refresh the playlist after changing the genre of some of the games instead of having to add the games or reauto populate the list?
  5. Not sure what is going on here but any time I try to right click anything under platform category I get this error message. I try restarting as suggested by the message with no results. Same message. I tried updating to the most recent version and am still getting this error. Trying to auto generate some playlists here instead of having to do them manually and then going through and fine tuning afterwards as I feel it would be much faster but ran into this wall. Any thoughts? No target found for method OnTreeViewRightClick. 6. I was afraid of that. I suppose there are no ways around RetroArch for the achievements through mame? I've looked myself and that seems a hopeless endeavor.
  7. This one could get long so I'll try and make it short and sweet without cutting out the important info and elaborate on a different paragraph. Short explanation: controls in mame work fine. Controls in mame through RetroArch cores (any) are horrid from the start in that some buttons perform two functions and others nothing. Mapping not working properly when trying to change them in mames options after loading through RetroArch. Elaboration: Silly me for wanting to set up retro achievements for arcade games. I should have known the rest of it went way too easy including the conversion from stand alone to RetroArch. So to elaborate before messing with any settings and testing out on shmups we had issues such as down was causing my character to go down and shoot, button one was causing to both shoot and use bombs. These sorts of actions carried over to any game of the genre. I went into the UI for mame in RetroArch to change the controls and boy what I found there. When trying to map a directional input it would hit multiple different inputs. Buttons seemed fine as far as mapping goes so the only thing I can think of there is the inputs from both RetroArch and mame are trying to go through and possibly in that order. This how ever would not make sense with a directional button firing as I've never set a directional button to fire. So I doubled back to my stand alone mame to verify it worked, input mapping worked and no other issues existed that I may have been experiencing with RetroArch. No issues there. I was thinking of possibly going into the script for that core and manually copying the settings from the stand alone mame to that one, but as I felt my blood pressure get higher and not wanting to worsen it, I logiced that out and am thinking it won't make a lick of difference if the reading aren't showing up correctly when trying to map them in the first place. If it helps I'm using an 8bitdo fight stick but again I don't see that being the issue if it's working fine in the stand alone. There again if I can't figure this out what do I know🤣. Appreciate you all and all your help.
  8. We are good to go. Thanks so much everyone for helping me through this!
  9. So this did not work. Here is the aftermath As you can see the name is still the file name. All metadata shows up fine. At a loss here as manually doing this seems pretty daunting but I will continue if there is no work around.
  10. After trying a couple times it gets stuck at trying to download the bezel packs so I am going to give it another go without those.
  11. Correct I do. I'm currently trying to reimport all metadata for arcade games to see if that fixes anything. Everything is under arcade as well. Will see if this fixes anything.
  12. Everything else came in find including videos, descriptions, genres ECT. I could try reimporting but I'm a little hesitant. This was just specifically my mame games. I'll give one a shot. Just read that
  13. Oh yeah its been a bit since this happened. I already started fixing the issues so many start up since.
  14. Not a noob but couldn't think where else to post this as it seems it may be a helpful time saver for noobs (and myself) if there is an answer. Recently had an issue where I had to reimport my Mame library (from an accident I did myself). I had everything the way I wanted it, however, I have ran into an issue where all the images are no longer showing up and the titles have switched back to the rom name instead of the actual name of the game. I was curious if there happened to be something I am missing where you can auto pull the title names to replace the rom name in the metadata so I would not have to go through and do each one by one. I know a quick way to get all the images back after searching on the forum and also noticed as I changed the names on an individual basis the images came back. Trying to find a time saving way of doing this.
  15. Anyone given any thought to the playable sega saturn imports for banners (like radiant silvergun)? Can't thank everyone enough for all the hard work put into this. My bigbox is looking sexy.
  16. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Display-Graphics-Keyboard-A515-43-R19L/dp/B07RF1XD36/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=laptop+rgb&qid=1604708444&rnid=2941120011&s=pc&sr=1-7 I went with this. Looked like the best bang for the buck. Thanks everyone.
  17. Yeah I guess more my question would be laptop recommendations. I've had a friend tell me you need something with a good processor and I had my tech guy say all you need is something with good connectivity and have good band with. Basically I want to go simple but not where I sacrificed performance. Let's be honest though there isn't much of that needed either. I just don't know how low I can go.
  18. Hey guys. Been using launchbox/big box for a bit now and I have been editing from my bed using my tv as a monitor. Long story short I want to be able to edit remotely so the wife and I can still watch tv while I do it. I've been thinking about getting a lap top to do so. I really just want to be able to edit files, maybe edit emulator settings to get the best out of them for each game (maybe), add missing elements like pictures and stuff to my database and things like that. Not as worried about editing the emulators if it can save me a good chunk of cash on getting a laptop. My question would be what would be the best way to remote in and what would be the best laptop to get budget wise if that is in fact the best way to remote in. Bonus for the stupid stuff I'm into like multi colored light up keyboards (I like a little astetics?)
  19. ok so the issue has been figured out. Morale of the story: Do not run anything you want to close with a .bat as administrator because you wont be given privlages. Everything works perfectly as it should and I thank you again @JoeViking245
  20. So I figured out how to make .bat files. Not so hard. So I tried making my own for this and it just does not seem to be working and I don't quite get why. The black screen pops up and I even get the icon showing up below with mine. I just don't quite get why whether I use /f or not I get no results. Could an option or something be blocked off somewhere on windows or on the program its self?
  21. Tried this batch file from this post as well. Noticed my JoytoKey app under properties is spelled this way with a lowercase "t" for the word to. So I tried changing that in the batch as well to try and get that to work (as I know sometimes case sensitivity is an issue) and I still got nothing. Would the version I have of JoytoKey be incompatible or is there something special I need to do for Windows 10 so that it will work properly. I at least see the black screen flash for a second which suggests the batch s trying to work.
  22. @JoeViking245 Good news, bad news. Good news is I got joytokey to pop up no problem when starting the table. Bad news is the command line didn't work.... So I did a little digging and found this: One of the users on there had a .exe file that was supposed to work instead of the command prompt.... Problem is..... That didn't work either. So I tried it with the command prompt typed the way you typed it and typed the way they typed it..... With there .exe file and without it...... And I am still in the same boat. At a bit of a loss here.
  23. @JoeViking245 worked like a charm. Thank you so much. Now if I could just figure out the command-line to run j2k on opening and close on exit.
