    Unified Lives!

I'm not quite %100 done yet, so not at this time. I have a new version I am working on, but I'm running into limitations as to what the theme creator can currently do. I'd really like the gamecount to still show on the gamewheelview for example. Rob

The images used are Front Flyer, 3d box, 3d cart, disc (floppy/cd) and marquee. These can all be downloaded within Launchbox and/or emumovies. I know it takes a while to download images, but the time is well worth it. Rob

Make sure your 3d cart priorities are set to only show 3d cart.

    Unified Lives!

I will look at increasing the game description font size. I had planned on ESRB, but it didn't make the cut for this version. I didn't know if people really paid attention to that or not. I just need to find (borrow) the icons and I can easily add them. As for the main font... I just used one of the windows bold fonts that wasn't too crazy looking. Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated. Rob
  5. Unified Lives! View File This theme is my re-take on the excellent Unified-Refried theme and I called it 'Unified Lives!'. The goal is to present more information to the user during game selection as well as using more graphic assets to complement the display experience. I hope you like it! - An informative game card that shows many details of the currently selected game. - 6 Game wheel views. 2 vertical, 3 horizontal and 1 text. - 4 Platform/playlist views - Single views for game and platform text views (these are necessary views) - Marquee, box 3d, disc, cd, 3d cart and front flyer images are all used. Visibility rules determine how they appear, depending on platform and also file availability. - Supports different aspect ratios. If it doesn't look right on yours please let me know! - Wheel Badges for Favorite, Completed and Broken games. - Created with Community Theme Creator 2.5 - Dynamically changing theme images based upon current platform/playlist. just like Refried. ** Rename 'background' folder to enable fanart. ** Rename the 'Devices' folder to always show a random game screenshot in platform/playlist views. ** Place your choice of fanart in 'fanart fallback' folder when game or platform fanart does not exist, a random image is chosen ** ESRB icons. If you don't want them, delete or rename the icons. The 'Not Rated' icon is renamed due to the number of titles without rating. Remove the exclamation from the filename to see it. *** Do not overwrite previous versions of the theme, replace the folder. Folder and file structure can change between versions! 7. I figured out the issue and it was related to the emulator config. Hypseus has such a wonky setup. Maybe if Launchbox had an option to not pass a rom file name to an emulator, but rather just addon the extra command line parameters to the emulator executable, this setup would be a whole lot easier and would not require bat files any more. rob
  8. Also, I can copy the text into a file and successfully execute it with the third party autohotkey.exe provided with Launchbox. Rob
  9. It's very simple: run, joytokey.exe -r hypseus,d:\launchbox\JoyToKey I don't think the script is running at all. I even just tried launching notepad as a test and get no result run, notepad Rob
  10. I added 1 line in the emulator 'running script' section to start joytokey and it never works. Anything I put in there doesn't work (even running notepad as a test). This is in launchbox and bigbox. I'm not sure what the issue might be. Rob
  11. It's a nicely done theme, but the view with clear logos just makes it too tedious to browse games quickly. Rob
  12. I believe I figured out what the issue is. The clear logos were not representing what the text name is exactly. I should have known better Rob
  13. When viewing the Arcade platform category in launchbox (platform category view), everything that is a child of Arcade, regardless whether it is a playlist or another platform is sorted alphabetically. That same sorting behavior is not present in BigBox. While the playlists appear sorted, the platforms are shown at the end of the list regardless of name. It would be nice if the sorting was alphabetical even in BigBox. I looked, but I don't see an option for this. I don't want to create extra playlists just to work around this. Rob
  14. To crash launchbox: Create a new playlist. During creation of playlist, check the auto-populate checkbox. Now try clicking on another tab without selecting any filter. Launchbox stops responding/crashes.
  15. Sounds like you don't have a backup? Always have one just in case. I develop my launchbox setup on one machine and when I'm happy with it, then I push it to my arcade pc. I also have a backup on external SSD. Rob
  16. I selected another 'games missing media' list while that download was still going.... Another download process seemed to start right after the first one finished???? I only highlighted media in the second list, didn't do anything else.
  17. When downloading from emumovies, the file count is incorrect.
  18. Well, surprise surprise... Now I can't reproduce the problem after updating to 11.17 (again). Playlist opening speed is instant and I've tested it several times. Rob
  19. I need to make a backup of my 11.12 launcbox folders and then I will upgrade. Once that is done (hopefully next day or so) I will test the playlist opening speed one more time. If it's still slow (I think it will be), I will forward you what you are looking for. I usually do a build on my main PC and then export it to my arcade PC. The slowness was happening on both machines. Rob
  20. I downloaded 11.17. The issue still remains. 11.12 is fine. Rob
  21. Maybe this is fixed recently, but when searching metadata I will often see duplicate entries as seen below:
  22. I downgraded to a clean version 11.12, reimported my games and playlists appear to load fine now. I am positive this issue was happening sometime before 11.16, but after 11.12. 11.16 did use more cpu, but memory usage seems about the same. Also of note is that the Arcade platform (not category) shows all the games in it where with 11.16 it didn't show any. I can use an "all games" image with the platform to make it useful in the playfield categories view I have as default. I didn't re-download any media, just moved it over from my old install folder. Rob
  23. Version 11.16 I rebuilt my Launchbox setup from scratch last night and am still seeing issues where some playlists take a while to open. The weird thing is that at one point I had it working where 'All Games' would open right away, but after some theme/view changes, it went back to being slow again. I left bigbox running over night and checked it this morning. 'All Games' was still slow to open. I closed bigbox and re-opened it. Now 'All Games' opens instantly again. The behavior seems really inconsistent. edit: The 'Shooter' playlist takes 7 or 8 seconds to open still. This is one I noticed was slow on my system. Other playlists open instantly. edit2: I loaded bigbox again and have not made any changes. 'All Games' was slow to open again (10 seconds). edit3: I loaded bigbox yet again. 'All Games' now took 25 seconds to open. edit4: This appears to be some kind of caching/memory issue? If I let bigbox sit idle, its memory usage keeps growing at about 2mb/s until it reaches a peak at about 2.5gb. When it hit peak, "All Games" opened quickly, but memory usage suddenly dropped back to 500mb with the usual 2mb/s climb again. "All Games" was slow again. Rob
  24. Playlists performance seems to be going downhill on my system. Opening playlists like 'All Games' for Arcade takes over 30 seconds now. Also entering my Arcade Platform Category makes 2 beeps instead of 1. Some playlists seem affected worse than others. Even small playlists can sometimes take up to 10 seconds to open. This is on an AMD 3950 CPU with a high speed 2TB NVME drive. Rob
