  1. @Mr. RetroLust Are you on Windows 10 or Windows 7?
  2. Alright, I think I have this figured out. I'll put out a beta here soon with the fix.
  3. Ah, I see. Okay, that makes more sense. I'll see what I can figure out.
  4. It may; I have thought about it. We can probably put something like that on the next poll.
  5. I see; okay. I'm testing with your data and I haven't been able to replicate the error yet. Does it happen with every game? What specific games is it happening on?
  6. Interesting. I fixed a number of screen placement issues for this release, so please try removing all the custom stuff to see if it just works now with the marquee screen. It is possible that I still have some things to fix on the marquee screen, but I thought I caught everything and I didn't run into any issues in my testing two different monitors with different resolutions and DPIs.
  7. @Niko78 This does look to be an error related to the new update and the startup screens, though I'm not sure exactly what's happening. You can try turning off startup screens under Tools > Options > Game Startup to see if that fixes the error for the time being. Also, if you'd be willing to zip up and PM me your LaunchBox\Data folder that would help for me to identify the error.
  8. Yes, the themes allow for some very advanced logic in this regard. Unified Redux does something similar already with playlists and parent platforms, but doesn't take it to a game level. But it is certainly possible, and if you use plugins, then the possibilities are pretty much endless.
  9. That's odd. We do some processing that hides the cursor (of course) but nothing that should change it. It could be some kind of odd incompatibility between that X-Mouse program and the Win32 API calls we're using, I suppose. I would reboot and see if it happens again, and then try and narrow it down by disabling mouse hiding in LaunchBox or disabling X-Mouse Button Control. Right now no, but honestly that would be easy to add so I can certainly do that. I can probably add it before the next release. That is a good point.
  10. I believe @RetroHumanoid will be coming out with a theme soon that does this. So it should be easy to tweak his once it's out.
  11. Ah, I figured you needed it to divide up the MAME zip files or something. You do have to be careful when moving MAME files around because of the dependencies.
  12. No worries. The official release just went live.
  13. Unfortunately it will still use the startup screens for this. We'll have to wait for a future release to address that. Edit: I don't see why that method should be necessary anyways since you can just set the system to use that PDF reader by default.
  14. I will be releasing shortly. I added in some logic for additional apps; additional apps will only use the startup screen now if they use an emulator, use DOSBox, use Steam, or have an EXE file extension. All other additional apps (such as PDF documents) will not use the startup screen. Hopefully that'll prove to be a solution.
  15. Lol. Actually, that was not the original intended purpose of additional apps. The launch with features were added later on. Zom is correct; additional apps are meant to be used for whatever you need them for.
  16. Every Windows/Steam game is different, so the startup screens are not guaranteed to work perfectly for every game. You may also have to tweak the startup screen settings for each game to get the best results. You may have to increase the startup delay, for example, or check the box to hide all exclusive non-fullscreen windows. Most games I am able to get working just fine, but sometimes it does take some tweaks, and the game will need to be already downloaded and installed, of course. That is legit looking awesome. Love it!
  17. Please, for everyone's sake, do your best not to make sweeping negative generalizations/assumptions. I'm sorry I didn't respond to each and every post you made in this thread. I am one guy after all. Nothing is changed, clearly. In fact, that's the problem you're bringing up. It's that I haven't added another new feature, not that something changed. You can always disable the startup screens and use LaunchBox and Big Box exactly as they were before. Regardless, I will look into the additional app thing, perhaps to automatically not use the startup screens for documents, maybe. That seems like the best solution to me here. It may or may not make it into today's release, however.
  18. Yes, you can put a background image in that matches the title of the playlist under LaunchBox\Themes\Unified Redux\Images\Playlists\Device. You can always attach a video in LaunchBox too, of course.
  19. Got it in for the release.
  20. The startup and shutdown screens will not be compatible with Rocket Launcher for the time being, so a hybrid approach isn't supported, at least not yet. That said, you should be able to turn them completely off in Big Box, and there should be no difference to how it launches now than before the startup screens were added in. You can turn them completely off under Options > Game Startup > Enable Startup Screen. I just tested this and confirmed that it is turning it off. Can you re-check to make sure that that setting is off? There are separate settings for both LaunchBox and Big Box to disable the startup screens.
  21. FYI guys, I'm planning on putting out the official release tomorrow. Let me know if anyone is seeing any major issues with the startup screens in beta 9.
  22. Go Tools > Options > General > Updates and check the box to Update to Beta Releases. Then just restart and it should update (it might download in the background if you have Backup Updates checked).
  23. Thank you @dukeemu. I'll get this in before the official release tomorrow. Much appreciated.
  24. Playlists do not currently support random videos, unfortunately, mainly for performance reasons. I may come back to this at some point, but it's not currently a priority. If you want a theme to fill the screen on a 16:10 monitor, and it isn't filling it, you can tweak the ThemeSettings.xml file. Just change the Force16X9AspectRatio setting (or similar) to false with a text editor.
  25. Beta 9 is out now with the following: - Fixed: Various Big Box screen positioning issues with multiple monitors that use different DPI settings I've also fixed screen positioning issues with the startup and shutdown screens in that situation.
