Awesome! Thank you Harry. Looking forward to it.

Woot! Thank you Retro!

Those look awesome Zom. Your sets are definitely a favorite of the community so it'd be great to get them updated with the new playlists for sure.

Also amazing! We now have a full set of clear logos thanks to amazing work of @RetroHumanoid; thank you sir. They look awesome in Big Box; the only thing I'd say isn't 100% perfect is the fact that some of the darker logos kind of fade into the background at times, most notably the Racing Games, Run & Gun Games, and Fighting Games logos. For instance: Regardless, they do look amazing and I certainly wouldn't be heartbroken to include them in LaunchBox as-is. Just wanted to mention it in case Retro or anyone else wanted to step up to create brighter versions. As always, I can't thank you guys enough.

Virtual Prepaid Credit Card for buying licence
Jason Carr replied to SDGDIRKSDG's topic in Website/Forum Support
Hi Dirk, as long as it is a real Visa or Mastercard, and it allows transactions from the US, it should work fine. That's not a guarantee but it should work. The biggest problem we run into with foreign credit cards is that they often disallow US transactions. But usually, if you call up the credit card company, they can enable the transaction. -
Here's what we have for clear logos so far, thanks to @RetroHumanoid: Missing: Ball & Paddle Games, Maze Games, MultiGames, and Pinball Arcade
-
I also just added Rhythm Games and Beat Em Ups to the top list, as somehow it looks like I forgot them.
-
Those clear logos are indeed awesome @RetroHumanoid; thanks for that. We're still looking for clear logos for Ball & Paddle Games, Maze Games, MultiGames, and Pinball Arcade.

The new playlists are auto-populate playlists and use genre names and other criteria that only work for the MAME metadata. They're purposefully displayed under the Arcade platform category for this reason. They're easy to rename to whatever you like, however. It should still be up. Do you have background updates enabled? Assuming you don't have any custom playlists that you need to keep, it should be safe to just delete them all. Then you can go to Tools > Create Missing Arcade/MAME Playlists and it will recreate them.

It's time to update the translations again guys; I'm hoping to put out a new official release either towards the end of this week or the beginning of next week. All translation packages have been updated. As always, thank you all very, very much.

Thanks Claudio, I don't have this integrated yet, but I will for the next beta.

Beta 9 is out now with the following: - Fixed: LaunchBox (.Next) was missing plugin support for the Tools menu - Fixed: LaunchBox (.Next) was missing LEDBlinky support - Stripped out the voice recognition stuff, which seems to be horribly broken in Windows 10 anyways. I don't know why, but it seems like MS has ruined the voice recognition engine, and it seems to be completely worthless these days unfortunately (no matter what I try it just never picks up the correct words). If requested (which I doubt), we may add voice recognition back in at some point, but it never seemed to be a very popular feature anyways. It was also very finicky since it's implementation back in the day. I'm hoping this beta will be the release candidate for the official release.

You'll want to use the new MAME full-set importer if you're importing a full set, as it was built specifically to solve the problem of missing games. MAME is very tricky since not all games even have ROM files associated with them. The new importer solves that problem. Per TurboGrafx, I would need more information in order to determine why they didn't import, such as the full file names. If you want to troubleshoot it further, let's please put it in another thread.
-
Did you use the new full set importer for MAME? I haven't touched TurboGrafx; what format are the ROM files in?
-
Okay, I would say the initial objectives (the biggest priorities) would be in this order: Clear logos for all of the new playlists that match the style of the existing clear logos that come with LaunchBox (typical old-school style that originated from Hyperspin) New theme videos for "Ball & Paddle Games", "Maze Games", and "MultiGames", because those three do not have any videos at all Banner images for all of the new playlists that match the style of the existing banner images that come with LaunchBox New theme videos for the rest of the playlists listed above Fanart for all of the new playlists Thanks again all.

ETA will have a tutorial out shortly after the official release, which should be soon. I'm not 100% an expert on MAME ROMs (even after spending so many hours researching and programming this stuff), but I don't believe it would be safe to go in and delete files that don't appear to be used, because many of the games would stop functioning. I believe figuring out which files are needed for each game is a rather complicated process. I'm guessing that the auto-generated MAME data would provide the necessary information, but parsing all that out is way beyond what I've built so far. If that's what you're looking for, though, I would recommend using an external tool of some sort (I know they exist but I'm not familiar with them) to whittle down the set, and then importing it via the drag and drop importer (this has now been updated to use the new metadata). We may add this in the future, but as for now it's not planned for the official release.
-
Okay; I believe this means that our testing has been flawed, sadly. The code is now exactly the same as it was back when everyone confirmed that it was working properly with Use All Controllers unchecked. So basically, it may be improved, but I'm guessing that it was never really fully fixed. Regardless, I think we'll run with this for the next official release.

That looks amazing @harryoke! For the clear logos that end up being included with LaunchBox, we'll need a set that mostly matches the existing ones with the basic, typical style. However, we certainly can't go wrong with lots of good options! @Klopjero Per the artwork, the main priority is to add images for the above mentioned playlists that match the existing set, though like I said above, new sets are great as well. We can look into creating a list of what's still needed, though this was an attempt at that for all the new playlists. Generally, video coverage is pretty amazing at current sans for the new playlists, as we have videos available from like 5 different creators using the built-in theme video downloader in LaunchBox. I also just added a bunch of @RetroHumanoid's videos up there, so now there's more than ever. But coverage is lacking for the above list currently. Thank you @Padou! And no worries; we'll look forward to it. Haha, that's awesome @harryoke.

Great to hear, thank you my friend. I have approval from @dragon57 as well, so I'll get them uploading here very soon. We're going to stick to platform, playlist, and platform category videos for now.

The new MAME metadata is very specific for genres and such; it's much better than the old data, so you might find that it's better anyways. I would recommend creating a temporary, new instance of LaunchBox and trying out the full set importer to see if it's what you want or not. You may find that it's what you were hoping for from the beginning. Otherwise, there's not much use for the new metadata if you don't want any of it changed, and if you're happy with what you've got, then there's nothing to worry about anyways.
