  1. Yeah, i'm one that are sending this updates, because MAME scrapper asigns this dual names when adding roms. The special diacritics like Ōzumō must be written with spelling/fonetic style (Ouzumou) if not scrapping fails. In a database update to avoid this probably we need two types of alternate names. Some to show up regional names JP/US/EUR/ Westernized fanname/ and a bunch of internal names (typical romset names) to made scrapping 100% accurate. There's also an issue with games that have the same name, like the classic double dragon brawler of technos and the double dragon vs game that appear years later on neogeo systems. Without some kind of workarround this games fail on scrapping specially when trying to download videos from emumovies. It's told from months ago, the database needs some serious work and priority to avoid extra work, i can't remember how many times i send final fantasy VI to delete from duplicates because the contributor don't search and find the entry Final Fantasy III (name of us release)
  2. To supernes and superfamicom good sources i'm taking from playasia and nintandbox, for anyone who want to give me a hand to update the snes database.
  3. The database have a bug, and a bunch of partially deleted entries. When you find a entry without any image or developer/publisher data is a partially deleted one. Please don't send again to moderation to delete it, or add data. Is a waste of time. Jason is working to manage the issue.
  4. This is critical Jason. Someone are adding again data and images on partially deleted entries. Or sending again to moderation to delete.
  5. This is critical Jason. Someone are adding again data and images on partially deleted entries.
  6. To split by company first we need to clean up the crazyness of redundancy on company names on the database. There's hundreds of duplicates.
  7. Jason, i don't want to be inapropiate. But i beg to you! Slow down a little the development on the app and please concentrate for a while on the database. Moderating and contributing is turning into a real mess. Deletions don't work, someones are still uploading hacks because we don't have hacks markers. The release dates are changing fast because don't have regional data and someones take USA release as date and other japanese... The missing alternate names and regional data makes scrapping of other releases than USA and typical names fail. The developers and publishers list is a mess of redundances. Please pause the eye candy improvements, there's a lot of work of contributors and moderators and with this state of the db is really making a hard thing to do.
  8. A bunch of games are already deleted but because of database issue, still remain but without image data, Please if you find a duplicated game with no images is one of them. It's already aproved for deletion don't do again until jason manages the issue.

  10. I know there's a bunch of roms hacks that worth it, but please. Don't upload these on the generic lists, there's thousands of hacks and i think that is better to keep them separate and not overload the lists with false games. Only on Super Mario World hack there's more than 100 available. Your opinions here. Glad to read it.
  11. All the games i deleted from super nintendo database remain.
  12. I'm a noobie but this is missing
  13. Yeah i found it with snes database, the last days i made a a to z audit, erasing as duplicates all the games that still present because diferences on euro names etc, and they still present but without images.
  14. I miss some clear genres like Shoot 'Em Up (shooter is generic) Beat 'Em Up/Brawler (Action is generic too) Visual Novel or Vs Fighting ( To avoid confusion between beatemups and vs games). We need also a genre tag for chess games, shougi games,go games and mahjong games (Board Games). I've thinking if casino games is acurate for pachinko games, or maybe we need to add an extra option, because is a nasty and only japan comprensible type of game. Farming games like pet breeding, farm management i think fall on construction and management but better tag with management or create another tag. There's a little group of games that only work and are dependant of external toys or perifericals, they need a category too ( Robot controler games, a bizarre golf simulation that i've seen on snes, a shooter with gun for the army etc) My proposal is Toy Enhancered Game/ Device Dependant. Adventure is confusing tag. Maybe is better tags like Point And Click Adventure, FMV Games (Time Gal)
  15. Separating systems acording their regions could lead us to a bunch of duplicates because the great diference in many titles on their western releases, and more dificult to audit. Jason is adding these days regional info on database, as it you could separate regional games on views soon. To have a consolidate database is best to not split games of same platforms and next add the necesary work on launchbox to manage the existing info. Be patient.
  16. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/issues/30/add-entry-languages-including Example: Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden 1 Languages: Japanese (Japan Release) French (Euro Release) English (Fantranslation) Link http://www.romhacking.net/translations/330/
  17. Please jason, remember adding a tag for languages, making posible to add in what languages is available the game (including fantranlations)
  18. Yeah! I'm the one who upload the 3 covers, i'm happy that good judgement has taken here.
  19. A merged database could be useful to avoid duplicates on large romsets, with and unified database, you could see with a scrapping what games you have on variuous regions and select if you want to keep all or only keep your choice us,jp etc. Also is a good option to add next an option to change views, like show all games with japan covers or us covers (including fanmades) or keep original regional cover for example. Is useful to add a new option to vinculate several roms to one entry and choose what version you want to run (useful for the games that have visual changes in versions, like dr jekyll and hyde of nes of the jetsons/yokai buster of snes. Keeping separate may contribute a lot to have duplicate entries on database because the infamous changes of naming on a large part of western catalogues. With the near addition of regional especific info, in one entry we can have all the naming and data, for now only covers, but jason says that he's working on it the next week, and is pretty close.
  20. Thanks man! You're awesome!
  21. Yes. you're right, i've overeact because in the last months i'm contributing with lot of work on the snes database and i've saw that still remains more than 500 games to add, i've feel a little alone in this task and i've feel a little angry for this issue, because i'm really concerned to complete and really impatient waiting for alternate names and regioal info. As i say, apologies for the shitstorm. I wait for oficial response.
  22. I say, that i'm the responsible. You don't need to seek internal info. If in the guidelines say platforms are merged and the asignation are, as i say, plenty of errors, no documented in guidelines. i've think that the correct option is going back to snes tag. If you see a mistake over and over, you don't correct it?
  23. The noise is on, and the debate. We wait for oficial response. Apologies for the inconvenience. I've feel the same when i see dragon ball z games (released on europe) moving to super famicom tag and reemerging duplicates that i've erased long ago.
  24. @Jason Carr Yeah Jason, because these new superfamicom issue, i've seen adding duplicates on superfamicom entry like the rushing beat saga, i've been deleted time ago and now the 3 games are now again in their japanese titles despite i've adding the asian cover info on their super nintendo entries.
