  1. A bunch of games are already deleted but because of database issue, still remain but without image data, Please if you find a duplicated game with no images is one of them. It's already aproved for deletion don't do again until jason manages the issue.
  2. I know there's a bunch of roms hacks that worth it, but please. Don't upload these on the generic lists, there's thousands of hacks and i think that is better to keep them separate and not overload the lists with false games. Only on Super Mario World hack there's more than 100 available. Your opinions here. Glad to read it.
  3. Yeah i found it with snes database, the last days i made a a to z audit, erasing as duplicates all the games that still present because diferences on euro names etc, and they still present but without images.
  4. I miss some clear genres like Shoot 'Em Up (shooter is generic) Beat 'Em Up/Brawler (Action is generic too) Visual Novel or Vs Fighting ( To avoid confusion between beatemups and vs games). We need also a genre tag for chess games, shougi games,go games and mahjong games (Board Games). I've thinking if casino games is acurate for pachinko games, or maybe we need to add an extra option, because is a nasty and only japan comprensible type of game. Farming games like pet breeding, farm management i think fall on construction and management but better tag with management or create another tag. There's a little group of games that only work and are dependant of external toys or perifericals, they need a category too ( Robot controler games, a bizarre golf simulation that i've seen on snes, a shooter with gun for the army etc) My proposal is Toy Enhancered Game/ Device Dependant. Adventure is confusing tag. Maybe is better tags like Point And Click Adventure, FMV Games (Time Gal)
  5. Separating systems acording their regions could lead us to a bunch of duplicates because the great diference in many titles on their western releases, and more dificult to audit. Jason is adding these days regional info on database, as it you could separate regional games on views soon. To have a consolidate database is best to not split games of same platforms and next add the necesary work on launchbox to manage the existing info. Be patient.
  6. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/issues/30/add-entry-languages-including Example: Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden 1 Languages: Japanese (Japan Release) French (Euro Release) English (Fantranslation) Link http://www.romhacking.net/translations/330/
  7. Please jason, remember adding a tag for languages, making posible to add in what languages is available the game (including fantranlations)
  8. Yeah! I'm the one who upload the 3 covers, i'm happy that good judgement has taken here.
  9. A merged database could be useful to avoid duplicates on large romsets, with and unified database, you could see with a scrapping what games you have on variuous regions and select if you want to keep all or only keep your choice us,jp etc. Also is a good option to add next an option to change views, like show all games with japan covers or us covers (including fanmades) or keep original regional cover for example. Is useful to add a new option to vinculate several roms to one entry and choose what version you want to run (useful for the games that have visual changes in versions, like dr jekyll and hyde of nes of the jetsons/yokai buster of snes. Keeping separate may contribute a lot to have duplicate entries on database because the infamous changes of naming on a large part of western catalogues. With the near addition of regional especific info, in one entry we can have all the naming and data, for now only covers, but jason says that he's working on it the next week, and is pretty close.
  10. Yes. you're right, i've overeact because in the last months i'm contributing with lot of work on the snes database and i've saw that still remains more than 500 games to add, i've feel a little alone in this task and i've feel a little angry for this issue, because i'm really concerned to complete and really impatient waiting for alternate names and regioal info. As i say, apologies for the shitstorm. I wait for oficial response.
  11. I say, that i'm the responsible. You don't need to seek internal info. If in the guidelines say platforms are merged and the asignation are, as i say, plenty of errors, no documented in guidelines. i've think that the correct option is going back to snes tag. If you see a mistake over and over, you don't correct it?
  12. The noise is on, and the debate. We wait for oficial response. Apologies for the inconvenience. I've feel the same when i see dragon ball z games (released on europe) moving to super famicom tag and reemerging duplicates that i've erased long ago.
  13. @Jason Carr Yeah Jason, because these new superfamicom issue, i've seen adding duplicates on superfamicom entry like the rushing beat saga, i've been deleted time ago and now the 3 games are now again in their japanese titles despite i've adding the asian cover info on their super nintendo entries. RIval Turf/Brawl Brothers/The Peacekeepers
  14. We'll in the moderation guidelines is very clear that platforms are merged soon, and yes, i'm pushing this into the other direction to make some noise to adress this issue now, in a first glympse i see that not only japanese games are moved to superfamicom tag, non released games in USA but in europe are moving to superfamicom too, and a bunch of duplicates are emerging into superfamicom tag too, i don't want to have to clean up a miriade of duplicates soon because some people without advice and no clear policy are populating the superfamicom category because they don't want to use the option scrape as, or have enought patience to wait for regional data and alternate names. I also want westernized names for japanese fantranslating games but to be straight i've adding all with their original japanese romanji name to be more precise.
  15. They are the same platform, and we are playing with emulators. To avoid duplicates and have a good database is better to have a unique super nes/super famicom list with regional info, when is implemented we can choose to download japan data or us data or euro data or split games acording regions on view options of launchbox. This is a mess of workaround to do this. Please, reasign to Super Nintendo and stop this nonsense. In the forums are sayed by devs that nes and famicom must me merged in the future, if the coming news is to merge platforms we don't must aprove another spliting.
  16. Just reasign to super nintendo, there's no stablished policy about when a game must fall into super famicom list, the supernintendo entries have superfamicom covers, and in near future alternate regional names. Superfamicom and snes are the same platform and in the future they merge. And i've check some duplicates added to superfamicom that are in super nintendo. This happens because de delay on adding the regional info, some fan of japanese releases take the trip when they saw the superfamicom entry. A mistake in my opinion.
  17. It's a nonsense and a change without a clear policy. And a generator of duplicates, redundances, and a bad workarround to clasify games. Super famicom and Super Nintendo are the same platform. We don''t need this, my suggestion to moderators is to reject changes to super famicom and wipe the super famicom entry relocating all to super nintendo. The spliting could be made when we have alternate regional names or other funtions to split or clasify.
  18. SentaiBrad said Well in this case, the name of the game is Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen. We do have a plan for alternate names and dates for different regions, but the only Alternate I would say would be viable is the Japanese name. I've never actually seen this game referenced as that actually. I'm always naming japanese games with their japanese romanji adaptation, but i thing that at least, the japanese games that have a fantranslation available and are available in full english with and adapted english title must have this one as an alternate name, to clearly look to this games that are unnoficial western games and that in many cases have custom us covers also.

  20. CriticalCid said To split the consoles in the database in to the different region variants was maybe a good idea before we had the „Scrape as“ function. But now it’s completely unnecessary and only brings more trouble than usage. If someone (like myself) prefers to split his platforms into different regions than it’s really easy and simple to scrape the additional platforms as the ‘main’ one. The non- consistency right now is a huge problem as well. I think the platforms should be merged again and it’s time that Jason finally adds “Alternative Names” to the games in the database and add the feature that LaunchBox uses the right artwork for each game based on the region tag of the ROM files. DOS76 said I agree that the regional stuff should get prioritized. yeah! thanks for the support, guys !
  21. It's a flawed funtionality. 1. In no time we could have duplicate entries like cybernator and assault suits valken etc, some defend that are diferent games on sfc and snes and other no, work to delete, work to add, losing time. 2. There's no clear policy to asign a game to super famicom, i've seen some games released on europe going to superfamicom platform because don't have US release.WT*! 3. All this issues are more and more work for moderators. Please, put on top of priority the regional data and games and avoid this workarounds. It's much better doing things right from the beginning than adding patches. Is much better have only one entry, add release and regional data and adding some presentation option on launchbox as split platform games with regional exclusives or something like that, view the japanese only separated, etc.
