My size estimations about size are taken from a real scan of NES cases taken from nintandbox, if not 1466x2100 is very close, more or less. The web you choose have the same flattened ratio, 1547x2100 for images, i think there's an arrange to use it with some type of cases (VHS) or something. The real ratio must be between 1466x2100 for EUROPE CASE and 1484x2100 for USA CASE. These images are nearly 100 pixels more horizontal, are flattened and distorted to mach some type of plastic case and have bigger sides.

Themes are not loading with the new beta. No loading of videos, clear logos...

Gorgeous! My god! You're good!!

Could i suggest Microsoft MSX, Sammy Atomiswave, Sega Naomi and Sega Hikaru? There are people that have sega arcades on other sections because mame don't emulate well, we need to maintain separate and use demul.

It's more clear if its a european cover because the nintendo seal is a circle and you could see easily the flattening. With the USA covers, and expecting the tipical sickness of moderating a lot of time and the quality of the reconstructions (if we don't care about ratio) i expect a massive death and wyping of the real scans.

Somebody is uploading massively covers of nintendo entertainment system with bad ratio/proportions, deleting the original ones. We have a tag for reconstructed ones and no need to delete the original and change with this. Good covers but with an incorrect ratio resolution. I check a original NES scan and the resolution of this covers to preserve proportions must be 1466x2100 and all this massive bunch of covers have 1546x2100, ARE FLATTENED AND DISTORTED.

Oh thanks, i'm really stoned with your videos. It's the best choice i've seen, i wait for your theme. I've seen on the forums, and i have some suggestion. The majority of themes created lastly don't use the background fanart, are designed with the videos as background and i see you are the only one that regardless put the front covers on a aceptable size. May i suggest some use of fanart backgrounds?

It's really amazing. We could expect 16:9 versions?

Really amazing, i'm stoned with the logos, the banners, the videos, and now a theme. Holy shit!

Ahem... we know that an issue on the database remains, and many entries sending to deletion not are really deleted, the issue persist for months. Is a workaround to avoid a serious issue. The entries remain and many contributor stuff again with image data, and i'm really sick of moderating contributions for partially deleted entries. Before smacking the moderations, think twice, please.

Yeah, i agree with you SentaiBrad, as i say it's a workaround acording the MAME importer names and the multiregional nature of NeoGeo games, but i understand your point that maybe it opens a door to generate caos on other platforms and extra work when the regional data is implemented on the database. And again, there's spoken months ago. The database and scrapping needs priority to avoid this issues. I'm feel a little tired of expending tons of hours moderating and sending data and still having this issues because we still don't have a message system to contributions to avoid lazy rejections, the regional data, and the sorry for the ***** words, the stubborness of many contributors on sending again and again rom hacks and regional versions of games available on database. I know that is a complex issue, but i feel that the work of contributors and moderators are diminissed with anouncements again and again about eye candy options and the database are still with this remaining issues for months.

Resolved - Cannot Scrape NeoGeo roms Properly - Informational
Freestate replied to djweevil's topic in Troubleshooting
The last days i'm updating neogeo info and covers. The issue i'm scalating is my name changes is being rejected when i change titles like 3 count bout for 3 Count Bout/ Fire Suplex I've have to comment on this issue: 1: The name change is not for my personal feeelings. It's the naming that the scrapper assigns when the roms are imported (internal mame names). Without this naming the data scrapping fails. 2: The NeoGeo AES game cartridges are MULTIREGION/MULTILANGUAGE. There's no regional versions. Inside the cartridge are included all the versions with all the languages, the version is attached to machine and its bios not diferent cartridge editions. I consider more correct to this games to asign the double naming acording to mame database. I know we are all waiting for regional data but in this issue, i think we need to make things different. Because this two points. -

If there's USA entry on database, reject it. I'm really sick of deleting again and again duplicates until we have regional names. If a game have USA release, the USA entry is mandatory and unique to add all the regional covers and info available. Same if a game have only japan or japan and euro release. When the adjustments are done we could add regional names and alias to the existing entry. For example Contra III (US)/Super Probotector (EUR)/Contra Spirits (JAP) are all on the same entry Contra III http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/119

Moderator Guidelines and Contributor Rules
Freestate replied to Jason Carr's topic in News and Updates
Yeah, i'm one that are sending this updates, because MAME scrapper asigns this dual names when adding roms. The special diacritics like Ōzumō must be written with spelling/fonetic style (Ouzumou) if not scrapping fails. In a database update to avoid this probably we need two types of alternate names. Some to show up regional names JP/US/EUR/ Westernized fanname/ and a bunch of internal names (typical romset names) to made scrapping 100% accurate. There's also an issue with games that have the same name, like the classic double dragon brawler of technos and the double dragon vs game that appear years later on neogeo systems. Without some kind of workarround this games fail on scrapping specially when trying to download videos from emumovies. It's told from months ago, the database needs some serious work and priority to avoid extra work, i can't remember how many times i send final fantasy VI to delete from duplicates because the contributor don't search and find the entry Final Fantasy III (name of us release) -
We really need better quality cover sources...
