It's up to date, I just installed it. Tried it from outside Launchbox and it worked. I've tried so many combinations of command line arguments and emulator setups I'm about to give up. I see you're using Playnite, so it might be a shortcoming of LB?

A curated list of 75 Pico-8 game videos with instructions
bikeking8 commented on JaysArcade's file in Windows
I've got games to try, but Launchbox won't load them regardless of what command line and checkboxes I configure in the emulator setup section. It always gives me this below. I've tried this on a shortcut on my desktop and it works with the -windowed 0 -run (filename) but not in Launchbox. Should I install it into the Launchbox\Emulators folder instead? Should the games be in the same folder as the emulator? -
I'm struggling here, but I'm so close. When I use that command line, all i get is this: And here's my emulator entry below. any ideas?

Games disappearing after editing? 11.16 beta 2
bikeking8 replied to bikeking8's topic in Troubleshooting
This was it, thanks. The games saved as a new platform title; the right platform but different name. I had given some platforms custom names (Turbografx 16 as opposed to NEC Turbografx 16). Maybe auto-recognizing extensions for platforms was a new feature I completely glossed over 56 versions ago, but everything's cool. -
I've already posted the issue in bitbucket but was wondering if anybody else has come across this. I edit a game, press "OK", and then it disappears from my list entirely. It's apparently still in the XML, as I need to check "Force Duplicates" when re-adding it. Thankfully, the data backup/restore process fixes any "disappeared" games, but I'm currently unable to edit anything.

How is this not a thing with Windows 10 in 2021? How. Just... how. The controller model has to have turbo on it because heaven forbid the Retroarch devs let you assign a turbo button instead of a second button you have to hold down. Just make sure you don't have to press any other buttons I guess...? *shrug*. It also needs to be bluetooth since I don't want to waste USB ports on 4+ 2.4Ghz wireless dongles. Anyways, I have 4 Nyko Wireless Core Controllers which fill the Win 10 and turbo button reqs but NOT the bluetooth. It'll pair, yeah, but only Retroarch will recognize it and it's button presses. It pairs up in Windows under "Wireless Core Controller" or "Pro Controller" depending on Android or Switch pairing method, but no other Windows games will recognize it. It works wired, but come ON - it's 2021. I just blindly ordered the 8bitdo adapter in the hopes that'll work with my $90 worth of Nyko controllers on Win 10, and am on the fence about a GameSir T4 Pro Wireless controller on Amazon that has mixed reviews. EDIT: Just tried the 8bitdo adapter with both pairing methods and that doesn't work with Windows 10 games either, the Gamesir T4 Pro is the same - Bluetooth for Apple, Android, Nintendo Switch and probably my toaster but not Windows. Suggestions?

I imported all the zip files in exodos as MS-DOS roms, hoping ALL the existing metadata from the exodos install would carry over, but no luck: Kept images and manuals As shown in the screenshot, there's a lot of misidentified game names (3 Skulls, 3D Ball Blaster, 3-D Dinosaur Adventure are duplicate titles used for different *.zip files) A lot of "Notes" have been dropped, and IMHO those are important If there's some way to bulk edit ROM file extensions from *.bat to *.zip in Launchbox, that might help preserve metadata, as the Exodos *.bat files get stuck on "Error Downloading" screen when used in RA. Any ideas?

Flash collection (Flashpoint) import guide
bikeking8 replied to Retrofrogg's topic in Collections and Builds
FYI Flashpoint 9.0 came out this week - link below. Seems like there's a big change - it "now has support for gamezips...As a result, the way Ultimate works has changed completely." Has anybody tried this yet? https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/downloads/ -
In case it's user error, I wanted to ask here before submitting a feature request/enhancement: The auto-generated playlists are convenient but inherently messy to manage. Current State The Playlist filter listing lists ALL playlists currently, both auto generated and manually created. It seems the Playlist filter listing is not sorted alphabetically by system default, as shown in the attachment. Problem Depending on how many platforms/games you have, this can lead to hundreds of mis-sorted and pre-populated playlists in desktop mode you have to scroll through, making it difficult to find a playlist you want to edit Fixes(?) Fix sorting on playlists? Break out or otherwise separate manual and auto playlists for convenient editing?
-
Yeah I've done this with one-off playlists, such as Series just like your example; but with the large amount of genres and the high chance for typos on my end I was wondering if I could auto-generate playlists for every platform. Doesn't look like it so I guess I'll be pulling out my spell check glasses lol.

Basically the topic subject. I want to be able to just look for a particular genre or play mode or what have you throughout all the games instead of drilling down through Consoles/Handhelds/Platforms. I'm hesitant to just create an "All" platform and try messing around with things, since deleting things from Platform Category seems to be pretty destructive in my experience. Any suggestions?

Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Bummer about the latency.. I'll still be checking on this Retroarch/Gamestream thing, but there's also Parsec that just came out which doesn't rely on Gamestream as Moonlight does. No controller-mouse support YET (so NO input available on Shield) , but as for right now I'm being optimistic. -

I DO still need a 360 controller plugged in to the PC but that's FINE, now that 2p is fixed on Gamestream. -

I'm delighted to say it works now! Multi controller enabled on Gamestream, had to change the controller port for Input P2 but I confirmed both controllers are independent of each other in Retroarch via Gamestream on SMB3 and Guerilla War. I found it a bit vindicating they had in their post that the previous input code "had many obvious limitations" hahah. Well now I'll be changing some default emulator settings tonight, cheers, fellas! -

@duerra, that's odd that dolphin would work and not other cores haha jeez... Is that with a dolphin bar or classic controller setup? @ErAzOr, virtual devices, great thinking. I got VirtualHere for dolphin bar/wiimote gamestreaming but never thought of what you mentioned. Let us know if you get any further with multiple controllers working! -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Just downloaded the latest (1.7.1?) and no change with either Gamestream or Moonlight. I've about had it with those devs, giving up hope with it working how all other emulators do, handling multiple controllers at once. Real shame too. We can have netplay but no couchplay? C'mon... -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Bory, the only emulator i've had problems with when it comes to multiple controllers is Retroarch, and I haven't tried any nightly builds in a while to check since (at the time I last cared) the RA devs refuse to make the needed change (correct me if wrong). For your PC problem, you may only have to enable multicontroller while in an Nvidia game stream session: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3723/~/enable-and-disable-gamestream-multi-controller-support-to-resolve-controller There's also moonlight streaming which has made leaps and bounds the past year and a half. Good luck, hope I helped a bit. -

I'll try that when i get home, would be nice if it works. Just to clarify, Erazor, I assume you meant Retroarch - what version are you using? -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
I would (and will) just be leaving the wired controller plugged in before doing anything. Then start Gamestream on the Shield, then enable multicontroller, then start up LB. The order could very well not matter but this is what is working for me. -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Sorry I didn't specify. Yes, my guess is that I'm spoofing RA into acknowledging multiple controllers by leaving the 360 wired controller connected to the PC. I will leave it plugged in at all times, since with a wired controller, there is constant power. From what I understand wired controllers will automatically be assigned to P1/2/etc without having to press the Xbox button (depending on the order they are connected to a PC). So even if the PC gets restarted while I'm away, the wired trick here should work for Gamestreaming RA. -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Here's my setup. My PC is in another room with the wired Xbox 360 controller connected, with the light indicating it is P1. In the other room I have my Shield TV, with two Shield controllers connected to it. -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Figured it out perhaps, working now with what might be called a workaround: I have a 360 wireless controller active on the streaming pc. With that connected, and with raw input on, Retroarch through Gamestream is now detecting 2 controllers. Multiple controllers enabled, I again confirmed SMB3 2 player. I'm about to run out for a wired 360 controller to see if I can just leave it in when i take my shield abroad. Aaand it works. 360 wired plugged in, it works. Mame, SNES, and NeoGeo cores working 2 player, too. -

DOS76 got it for the raw option. As for the sound issues, it might require a reinstall. I can't say if this is even the best practice, but i unzip the Retroarch package to a new folder and copy over some folders from the old install. Like config, saves, states, etc. -
Nvidia Shield Gamestream and two controllers
bikeking8 replied to poisongoomba's topic in Troubleshooting
Gamestreamed second controller works now! 1.6.0 stable allows for low latency controller polling (I think that's technically accurate) using the newly added "raw" input selection. I just confirmed with SMB3.
