  1. Seems to work fairly good, however it wants you to setup the internal clock every time you start a new game, but so pumped to see progress on this so quickly. Mednafen works so well
  2. Life may have gotten easier for everyone! RetroArch now has Mednafen Saturn Support!!! http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6643&p=44964#post44964
  3. So the sorting and auto populating of extra discs is working extremely well. I have reimported most of my CD based games and it has worked beautifully! Bravo Jason, Bravo!
  4. Hi Jason, You also added sort by file type extension during Rom Import! The Multi Disc addition and Extensions together make like so much easier when all you want to import is just cues
  5. **Not First!** So does this mean a new beta will be soon? Love the forums btw!!!
  6. lordmonkus said Right now my working vs non working games are: Working: Blazing Dragons Darius II Darius Gaiden DonPachi Dragon Force II Guardian Heroes Magic Knight Rayearth (after getting a new copy) Nights Panzer Dragoon Panzer Dragoon Saga Soukyu Gurentai Otokuyo Not Working: Clockwork Knight 2 Cotton 2 Cotton Boomerang Herc's Adventures Keio Flying Squadron 2 (runtime error) Princess Crown Radient Silvergun Sexy Parodius I don't know if the games that don't work would work with a new image or not. My first Magic Knight Rayearth didn't work but a new copy fixed it. I have tried different downloads of the 2 Cotton games but no luck on either of them. If anyone has any games I listed working please let me know. Radient Silvergun and Clockwork Knight 2 both work for me so make sure you check your rips! I haven't tested the other games you listed as not working however.
  7. Jason Carr said Alright guys, new beta is out. We added platform-specific image types today, as well as animated gif support for Big Box and more frame rate options. I also fixed a few bugs. There is one glaring bug in 6.6 that unfortunately means we need to push out the official 6.7 release fairly soon (it's the incorrect screenshot bug in Big Box when using background videos). I'm hoping to push out the next official version in the next couple of days. I'll give this release a couple days of testing though before pushing it out. My focus tomorrow will be on recording a tutorial video for custom themes with a visual editor, etc. :) Hi Jason, I was curious if there was any progress made with Downloading Images and Metadata without changing the Platform the Game is associated with. Not sure if this can make it in time for 6.7.
  8. You can select all the games of the system in LaunchBox and do a bulk edit to hide them, and then in Big Box make sure you uncheck show hidden games in the settings and that system will no longer appear. Also, in LaunchBox make sure you check to show hidden games so you can see them there!
  9. Hi Jason, The update fixed the default command-line parameters for Rocket Launcher for me as well! Great job with this, it takes a lot of the guess work out for new comers who have never used Rocket Launcher. Also, it would be extremely nice if using search there is a "No Results Found" dialog box or something similar. Right now it just kind of sits at a black screen. Even more of a Wish List item would be Suggestions or a Google style "Did You Mean?" For the search.
  10. Jason Carr said Hehehe, thanks guys. @Jazzphone I'm still pretty clueless when it comes to Rocket Launcher so I'm not exactly sure what's happening. Should -f refer to the LaunchBox/Big Box EXE files or the LaunchBox.xml file? I was under the impression from Austin that it should be the EXE but I could be wrong. -f refers to the front end, so it should point to the LaunchBox.exe or the BigBox.exe. The RocketLauncher LaunchBox plugin knows that the LaunchBox.xml resides in the same folder as these. If the syntax -f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" is left as is, it does not work. If I replace %launchboxorbigboxexepath% with the Absolute path, the command works. So I think the %launchboxorbigboxexepath% syntax is not providing the correct path to Rocket Launcher Here is the Raw CLI that gets outputting from LaunchBox into Rocket Launcher. As you see in the command, The syntax passes only K:\LaunchBox and stops there. This would lead me to believe the syntax isn't passing all the information. Main - Raw CLI received: "-f K:\LaunchBox -p LaunchBox -s Atari Lynx -r K:\LaunchBox\Games\Atari Lynx\A.P.B. - All Points Bulletin (USA, Europe).lnx" Here are some screen shots that will help. The first screen shot is the Error, the second is how the Command Gets presented to Rocket Launcher and the Third is the Absolute Path in the place if the %launchboxorbigboxexepath% syntax to make the command work. I can also get rid of the -f command completely and it will still work for my setup since BigBox is my default front end in Rocket Launcher
  11. Also love the Game Screenshot showing up with Background Game Videos. Fills out the Space extremely nicely. The blank spot was the reason why I was holding back from using Game Background Videos. The mappable search button is also Great! Great update Jason
  12. Jason Carr said Thanks guys, just put out a new beta with the following fixes/changes: - Improvement: Added a default Rocket Launcher emulator with automatic configuration - Improvement: Added keyboard and controller button mappings for Search to Big Box - Fixed: Incorrect screenshots were displaying in the games lists when background videos were enabled - Fixed: The search icon in the Big Box text list's alphabetic index was getting cut off The Rocket Launcher thing should hopefully make that experience a lot easier. I'm working with Simply Austin as he comes up with a tutorial video for Rocket Launcher integration and this should help make the entire experience a lot easier (assuming I got it right for this beta). Hi Jason, I just added your new Rocket Launcher Auto Config emulator and I had to delete the -f "%launchboxorbigboxexepath%" from the Command-Line Parameters because it was giving a Folder path Error to LaunchBox.xml. Where in LaunchBox does this path populate? RocketLauncher assumed it was the Root of the drive. Once this parameter was removed however, it worked fine. Applied a Bulk Edit to all my games and they all appear to be working across all Platforms!
  13. Here is an example of both problems. Screenshot 1 = Super Burnout is selected but Space Wars art is still displayed. Space Wars does not have a Video associated with it. Screenshot 2 = Clear Logo in the background
  14. Hey Jason, There seems to be an issue with Background Game videos when you get to a Game that does not have an associated video. If you move over that game, an Image (Title Screen in this case) shows up below the box art, since there is no video for this game, no video plays in the background. This is expected. However, as soon as you move down to a game that does have a video, the image under the box art remains, even though the game has now changed. Also, there seems to be an issue if you chose not to have Game Background Videos where the only art that shows up is the Clear Logo in the background. So the clear logo is stretched over the background...and yes I have this option unchecked in the Big Box settings to use clear logos as backgrounds. It doesn't seem to make a difference.
  15. Jason Carr said Hey all, I just rushed out the 6.5 release because we were dealing with more annoying Kaspersky false positives with 6.4. I added searching with an on-screen keyboard functionality to Big Box and somehow magically that fixed the Kaspersky false positives, so I decided to go ahead and put out the official release. Hopefully nothing is broken; let me know if anyone finds any new or critical bugs. Dream come true with Search!!! Thank you, Thank you!!! Of course, you give us a little and we will always want more. Is there any way we can map a key/button to bring up the search dialog from anywhere within BigBox? This would be the icing on the cake.
  16. Jason Carr said Jazzphone said Weird issue when updating images and metadata. If I select all the games in one platform, for example "MAME" and then go to Tools, Download Metadata and Images and chose to have it overwrite all the Metadata and Images to re scrape that platform it will create the Original LaunchBox platform of "Arcade" which is to be expected since it is overwriting the Metadata. However, if I select all in the newly created platform "Arcade" and then to a Bulk edit to switch the platform of those games back to "MAME", none of the newly downloaded Media movies with it. So I have to move all the media in the folders manually, which can be time consuming. Is this normal behavior? Thank you @Jazzphone, it's good to see that whole scenario. I never thought about overwriting metadata actually changing the platforms for the games; I guess it's arguable either way whether or not that should happen when you overwrite metadata. Per the media not moving, that is a known issue that I have on my list to fix. Unfortunately it won't be an easy fix so I won't get a fix for that in before 6.4, but hopefully I can tackle it soon after. Sounds great! Maybe add a check box on the screen where you select Yes, Overwrite Metadata and Images to keep the Platform the same? As things change in LaunchBox Database, I plan on doing this periodically to make sure I have good information.

  18. Jason Carr said New beta is out guys; I spent the latter half of my day fixing everything for the German translation and this morning fixing numerous bugs from Bitbucket. This beta also has the stuff from yesterday's live stream where we tackled the option to skip the game details screen in Big Box. I'm going to push out 6.4 here in the next few days, hopefully. Hi Jason, it seems the new beta broke controller automation and I can no longer exit games. I tried remapping keys but no go on that. I went back to beta 2 using my back up and all is well again.
  19. I can confirm that the videos to restart now without the loading message using RocketLauncher! The video also stops when started from the Platform Wheel. Love it Jason!
  20. kmoney2315 said @Jason I have a bit of good news with my videos not starting back automatically after exiting a game with rocketlauncher. After Jazzphone was stating that his RL and BB setup his videos would start back up as long the loading game message was enabled in options. However on my setup my videos would still not start back with that option enabled. The problem was something in my Rocketlauncher must have been corrupt even though everything seemed normal. I downloaded a fresh copy of RL and set everything back up exactly how I had it in my previous setup with the same settings and now my videos start back up automatically using RL. I still have to make sure the loading game message option is checked in order for the videos to start back automatically but that is fine for now until you get a chance to fix the bug of having to have that option enabled in order to get the videos to start back automatically. So it turns out it really had nothing to do with RL other than something was corrupt in my RL folder. That was definitely a head scratcher especially when everything else seemed normal even with other frontends. Glad to hear you got this working!
  21. Jazzphone said Jason Carr said A new beta is out; still have more bugs to fix but this gets us farther. There have also been some important changes/additions: - Video backgrounds are now supported for the games views. Rather than add new views, I enabled them for all the existing views. You can turn them on under Options > Game Images > Use Background Videos. - I removed the new Platforms Wheel with Video Backgrounds view. Instead, I've added an option similar to the games views above. You can now turn on video backgrounds under Options > Filters Images > Use Background Videos. This should now work for all the platforms views sans for the boring text list view. Thanks all. Hi Jason, Love the fact that you added the ability to just add background videos across the board. I did notice on the Details for the Platform wheel, there doesn't appear to be away to control the transition of it. It seems to be set to Fade and nothing else. Maybe this option just hasn't been implemented yet? Nevermind. Found It!

  23. I am using WMP as my video backend also.
  24. kmoney2315 said Jason Carr said No problem @shinra358, thanks for clarifying. :) @kmoney2315, that's odd. In the video it looks like window focus isn't properly returning to Big Box after the game exits. The start menu is showing up over top of Big Box which isn't typical and should be avoidable if focus is properly returned. It probably does have something to do with Rocket Launcher; I'm gonna have to get a good setup of RL going in order to address that. Are you using the latest version of RL now with the LaunchBox plugin? I am using the new plugin for Rocketlauncher and I did notice that the start menu popped up over BB. The start menu doesnt pop up every time but it did happen in this video but the video doesnt start back automatically either way. I have been using Rocketlauncher for years and with the new Launchbox plugin it makes it even easier for new users to use RL with LB. Watching your livestream and seeing your videos start back automatically I noticed one thing with your setup is when you press the button to enter the game the video paused immediately and the game started. My setup when I press the button to enter the game my video continued on for a second and actually did a full transition to a screenshot and then the game started. So maybe its something like Rocketlaucher takes a second or so more time to start to enter a game and then when you exit a game it takes a second or so more time to regain back focus of the frontend. Also, for me using RocketLauncher if you enable the Loading Game Message under General in Big Box and you start a game, the video will start back up upon exit of emulator. Not sure why this work, but the behavior of the video stopping and restarting right before the RocketLauncher fade kicks in doesn't happen when you have the Loading Game message checked.

Do you have issues with auditing your games with the new RL plugin in RocketLauncher? It seems to be sticking to the first system I audit for all systems.
