Coming from HyperSpin to Launchbox, RocketLauncher was a huge help/awesome. I didn't have to do anything to my emulators and roms since I already had everything setup in Rocketlauncher which saved me a lot of time.
If none of the features mentioned by the above post by K-money interest you, it might not be worth setting up Rocket Launcher. Especially since Launchbox does a good enough job already with most emulators. It might be worth it if you want those advanced features. Plus RocketLauncher is free so you have nothing to lose.
Also if you have any issues with RocketLauncher, just post in their help forums. I'm sure someone will help (including maybe one of the devs themselves who post frequently.)

Are you using any themes or are you using just the default one?
Also, Do you have the K-lite Codec pack installed? I know the "Standard" pack has resolved issues for some users.

Have never used or done this, so not sure well or if they even work as described.

Besided tabbing out and ending the process, you can setup an exit key within BigBox (or within RocketLauncher if you use that)

Within Launchbox I would try refreshing your images for that game.
Then edit the game and see if you see the image there now.

I see.
I know the MinimalHD theme by Grila has a scanlines filter on his background videos for his theme. Maybe you can do something similar.

Most should already have one image with transparent background. Look for the images with the checkered background. Here is the Nes section as an example:

I actually do not have a line like that anywhere in my ini.
The only thing I can think of is that I am using the HyperSpin plug-in on my Rocketlauncher setup. (moved to launchbox from HyperSpin after using it for few years)

Am using latest version of the theme (1.1.1) also have tried an older version (1.0.6) and have same results. Am on version 6.9 beta-5 of BigBox

Here are screenshots of my setup in RocketLauncher. I just press start and select to exit and have no problems.

I have a 360 controller which uses X-input on my computer. I have set it up in Rocketlauncher to close most of my emulators by pressing start+select at the same time. Don't remember it being very hard at all to setup.
I'm assuming the setting in LaunchBox doesn't work because the emulator is Rocketlauncher, so it maybe trying to close Rocketlauncher instead of the emulator.

Yes you can. When setting up a new exit key it will ask which buttons you want to use, just press them on your controller.

I would say, Google is your best bet.
I would start by trying to find out how to create a batch file to open a program (BigBox) first since this is easiest.
Then find out how to create a batch file to play your video.
Finally, figure out how to combine those together maybe into one batch file working seamlessly.

I'm sure you could make a batch file that can do that for you when Windows starts up.

@nosh After you install the new beta, you have start BigBox one time and it should automatically populate in the themes folder.
