  1. Memories of Yesterday BigBox Theme

    View File

This is my first BigBox theme made entirely with @y2guru's fantastic, Community theme creator. I called it Memories of Yesterday (I suck with cool theme names). Many Thanks to @viking, for the Silver Ring Clear Logo set. @Mr.RetroLust (I cant seem to tag you for some reason) for the Marquee Screen Filler Magic, that I used on my arcade cabinet view. @nosh for the device images that I borrowed from the "Nosh on this Twice" Theme and Everyone else on the forums for all the code snippets, that helped me make this theme.! The theme is for 1920x1080 resolutions. If you have any issues, I would love to hear about them.

    Cheers!

    Edit: Added video.

  2. I'm running a Ryzen 5 2400g and just using the on-board video (roughly the equivalent of a GT 1030) with 16 gigs of ram. Launchbox/Bigbox runs silky smooth.

  3. I have been playing around with @y2gurus' Community theme creator and in the process I decided to port over my "Arcade Classics" themes that I have made for Hyperspin, years ago. I am by no means a coder of any sort, but the theme creator has allowed me to start learning the process of theme creation. I have made some updates to the originals and made them a little more modern. Anyway, here is a screenshot from my theme and hopefully in the coming weeks I will have a full theme!

    Thanks.

The playfield is 27 inch, the backglass is 19" and the DMD is a 7 inch. Besides the PC and monitors, it has a 7.1 surround sound for SSF (Surround Sound Feedback), Two power supplies, one of which powers the LED Matrix and the other powers the strobes, beacon, Led Wiz and other toys. Besides the PC speakers in the backbox, there are also two 2.1 mini amps that power the other speakers and sub below the playfield for the Surround Sound Feedback. A lot of the other guys that build real size pins will also include other toys like shakers, fans, chimes, knockers, solenoids, among other things to simulate real feel and sounds coming from their cabs. With my mini setup, I didn't have room for any of that so I was pleased to find the SSF stuff simulates that stuff pretty well. When the ball hits the bumpers you can hear AND feel it coming from the table. Its pretty insane. There is also an accelerator type board (KL25Z Pinscape) in the cab that feels motion so you can bump the table and see the ball move. It's really neat.

For what it's worth, the frontend on the table is not Launchbox/Bigbox, but I think with some work and a good theme, @Jason Carr could easily make Bigbox cabinet ready. I'm really just showing the video to demonstrate what a proper pinball cabinet is capable of. I do have Visual Pinball set up on my BigBox arcade cabinet playing tables in landscape mode. I'll try to post some video of that next. Possibly this evening if I get time.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I have some reading to do :)

When I 1st tried, I was having a heck of a time to get it to work.  Like you, I tried the URL with and without the trailing slash, with and without the http:  and so on.

I'm not saying anyone is as slow as me ?, but it wasn't 'til I realized that the Steam Import Wizard wasn't showing an "example" of the URL, it was actually providing the 1st part of it... that I got it to work.  So in the empty field, I only needed to enter just my Steam user id name.image.thumb.png.624cd652ffcbc8a99c4f7083ca0b62d3.png

Happy you got it sorted :)

  6. I think what they are trying to say is, when they import ron rom files it just stays on the "Refreshing local metadata from the LaunchBox games database" part, before it downloads the media.

  7. Have  you tried excluding your launchbox/emulators/roms/media folders, from your antivirus?  I had an issue with a game sometime ago and windows security would always flag a dll file and quarantine it, and not let the game run. Excluding the game folder, fixed the issue. I would take a look at your quarantined files (if any) and see if any belong to launchbox.

After adding about 1600 playlists LB now takes nearly 3 minutes to load, it used to only take about 20 seconds max to load. I think I'm going to have to delete some playlists. My CPU is a 4790k, I guess it's age is catching up to it.

    1600 Playlists.....?
