  1. FutureState Neon Deluxe

    FUTURESTATE NEON DELUXE
    *Click follow to stay informed of important updates*
    ---Introduction---
    This theme started out as a custom color skin for the FutureState theme by Hexxxer, I wanted to make something that would fit my gameroom's dark blue/purple blacklight lit environment, a bit like the good old dark arcades, where light plays an important role to the experience.
    It evolved after months of coding long, long... lloonng hours into this, I had to learn this coding language along the way, I hope it doesn't contain any errors and such.
    Huge thanks go out to @Hexxxer for his amazing theme (FutureState) framework, controls (HexControls.dll) and kind permission, without him I couldn't have done this. Also a huge thanks to @NJDave71  for making it possible to see the game count for playlists through HelperControl_v4.DLL which is included in this theme. Thanks guys! And everyone else for all the inspiration, enthusiasm and dedication.

    Enjoy please read these instructions well!

    ---Installation, Tips & Probable Issues---
    1. This theme uses images and video pretty heavy, it could run slow on older systems, I did add some faster/lighter views, try to see what works for you  after you let the lists cache. Huge lists with thousands of games always run a bit slower as more data is being transfered.
    I recommend doing the following to speed up BigBox greatly:
    * Uncheck all Background Images in launchbox/settings/image priorities
    * Set all transitions to "None" in BigBox settings
    2. This theme is probably only fit for use on a 16:9 aspect ratio, as I did use some absolute positioning of elements, I'm not very experienced yet to make a 4:3 relative positioning version, maybe someone else might be able to make such a version.
    3. If you use a 4K display you probably have to set the Windows dpi settings to 200% in order to keep the layout intact.
    4. You can find transparent background cabinets here at Arcade Cabinets Project 2.0:

    5. Download the theme zip file and extract the content to Launchbox/Themes/ folder.
    6. Install the font file, you can find it in the extracted folder FutureStateNeonDeluxe/_InstallationFiles/
    7. To make the placeholder work which shows the Cabinets/Advertisement Flyer - Back/Box Back in the screenshots needs some changes in your image priority settings within Launchbox. As the cabinets don't have their own placeholder to be coded in a theme I used the Cart 3D placeholder as I figured most people will only use one cart view or can set Cart 3D in image priorities to Cart Front. You can control a lot to your liking within image priorities, as long as you remember it's Cart 3D for this placeholder.
    My setup in image priorities within Launchbox options:
    8. You might need to unblock the .DLL's in the plugin folder for them to work properly.

    ---Features---
    Slide-in/out platform/game wheel, disappearing when not in use to make room for more possibilities. The logo's have a glow beneath them so you can still see black/dark logo's apart from the background.
    Special Marquee monitor filler magic trick (previously released to be used in other themes as well). Using the empty space around marquees in a special way. If you rather have the default marquee views just copy 'GameMarqueeView.xaml' and 'PlatformMarqueeView.xaml' from the default theme views folder and overwrite in this themes 'views' folder.
    And loads more...

    ---Views Description---
    Platform View 1 (PlatformWheel1FiltersView)
    * A lot of Platform details
    * Device image
    * Large video/image with ambient/glow beneath it
    * Total games counter for platforms and playlists
    Platform View 2 (PlatformWheel2FiltersView)
    * Same as Platform View 1 except for a few differences
    * Fanart platform image in place of device image
    * Device image to the right side overlaying video/image
    Platform View 3 (PlatformWheel3FiltersView)
    * Same as Platform View 2 except for a few differences
    * Details panel makes room for full size video/image
    Platform View 4 (PlatformWheel4FiltersView)
    * Full screen video/image
    Platform View 5 (TextFiltersView)
    * Text list of Platforms
    * In the mid collumn Platform banner image, device image, fanart image
    * Even more details about the platform/playlist

    Games View 1 (WheelGamesView)
    * 2 Game Screenshots
    * Details I found useful
    * Game description
    * 3D box (You can switch image view on this placeholder with a button) with Cart image overlaying.
    * Cabinet/Back Box/Back Flyer overlaying on left side over video/image
    * Details overlaying video/image like your star rating, developer, publisher, genre, playmode.
    * Custom icons for Broken, Portable, Completed, Favorite and ESRB rating.
    * Platform logo in the middle
    * Scanlines overlaying the video/image
    Games View 2 (Wheel2GamesView)
    Same as Games View 1 but with Cabs/Back to the right side
    Games View 3 (Wheel3GamesView)
    Same as Games View 1 & 2 but without cabs/back and without scanlines over the video, for views which have high quality video's and/or theme video's
    Games View 4 (Wheel4GamesView)
    A view which might be more suitable for quick browsing, slower systems and require more game details.
    * Cab images without transparency look better in this view
    * Static logo wheel
    * Video below with glow beneath. The cabs/back images are filling the screen (maintaining aspect ratio) to the right for better readability of back covers and high quality cab images. I prefer this view for inspecting/sorting out my games.
    * Larger Icons right/below side.
    Games View 5 (TextGamesView)
    A view to see even more game details, without video, the idea here is you can see the front and back image side by side while being able to read the back image. As if you would hold the cover in your hand.
    * Static Text wheel
    * Many details
    * Large Icons
    * Box/Advertisement fronts beneath image
    * Cabs/Back to the right
    Games View 6 (GameDetailsView)
    Same as Games View 5

  2. Unified Refried

    I set out to make an alternate version to the beautiful Unified theme,with modifications here and there,yet,as I worked on it more and more,I started to go a different direction slightly...and thus Refried was born. This theme is built to focus on artwork,and showcase each system in bright colorful high definition artwork. I have drawn all new original arcade cabinets,and designed custom borders for each platform,which set each system apart from each other,while maintaining a unified appearance across the board.
    The main difference between this,and many other themes that are out there...are the video borders. When using the Default theme,all video borders are the same size across the entire theme...but,when using the addons,the video borders will then fit the system properly...so that the video for Game Boy Advance,will fit the GBA Video Border...and the PSP video,will fit the PSP Video Border. In other words,by using separate themes,it allows the video to represent the system perfectly...rather than the same size border for everything.
    This theme is more than capable of running without a single addon theme installed,and only using the Default...the addons are merely to extend the experience of each system,with special added artwork,and tweaks. In comparison,This theme works very much like coverbox...except with a default to fall back on.
    On the other hand,the Addon themes rely on certain files that reside in the Default theme...so while it is still possible,it is not suggested to run the addons without running the Default as well. I have built this theme as a package...so If anyone chooses to run the addons,without the default,or make any changes to the xaml files...I will not provide any help with issues that arise...sorry.

    There are multiple views included with the default theme,including -
    1.Border with No Box/Cart/Disc Art
    2.Border with Box/Cart/Disc Art
    3.Border with Box/Spinning Cart/Disc Art
    4.Full Screen Video w/Centered enlarged wheel
    5.Border Text List View with Box/Cart/Disc Art
    Each Addon theme has 4 views,which are -
    1.Special Artwork/Special Border with No Box/Cart/Disc Art
    2.Special Border with Box/Cart/Disc Art  (With wheel fade)
    3.Special Border with Box/Cart/Disc Art  (No wheel fade)
     4.Special Border Text List View with Box/Cart/Disc Art
    In the case of the Addon themes...if the system has CD's/Discs,then the Disc will spin in Views 2 and 3...but,if the system has carts or floppies,then they will not spin in views 2 and 3.

    ***Notes on the Arcade Addon Theme***
    *The Arcade theme consists of a single theme that contains all of the artwork for 65 Arcade platforms/Playlists,and is installed the same way as the Collections/Genres/Favorites themes*
    *Capable of displaying Video Marquees for each game in the marquee area of the cabinets (Some samples are included,and more are on the way)*
    Any Video Marquees must be placed in "LaunchBox/Themes/Unified Refried - Arcade/Images/Theme/Video Marquees/" and must be in mp4 format
    *Capable of displaying Marquees for each game in the marquee area of the cabinets
    In order to make this work properly,you must go into LaunchBox options,and change the priority for Cart Back Image to Arcade - Marquee,and uncheck anything else. This has been updated from the previous method,and if you still have the version where you have to add marquees to the theme folder,i highly suggest you update it again to this new version.
    *The Arcade theme has 5 views*
    1.Dynamic Marquees with Character Artwork
    2.No Dynamic Marquees with Character Artwork
    3.Dynamic Marquees with Advert/Flyers
    4.No Dynamic Marquees with Advert/Flyers
    5.Text List View with Advert/Flyers/Cabinets
    Installation:
    1.Download the Default theme,as well as any platform themes you would like,and place them separately in the themes folder located at Launchbox/Themes. The structure should look like this..
    Unified Refried
    Unified Refried - Atari 2600
    Unified Refried - Atari 5200
    etc.
    2.If you have not done so,you will need to unblock the Plugins...This does not have to be done for every addon theme,as unblocking them once,in the default,is all that is necessary...excerpt taken from unified description -

    3.Set the theme to "Unified Refried" in Options/Views/Theme
    4.Make sure to have "Remember seperate view for each Platform" turned on in Options/Views
    5.Browse to any platform that you have installed the Platform theme for,and press your "Switch Theme" Key,Then select the appropriate Platform theme from the list. If you have not programmed a "Switch Theme" key,you may do so by going to Options/Keyboard Mappings or Options/Controller Buttons.

  4. RΞfΔktΦR

    RΞfΔktΦR is a relatively simple text view-based theme (though I did also throw in a few wheel views) showcasing videos and screenshots while keeping things clean. It's designed to work with either 16:9 or 4:3 displays, though you might need to tweak some settings using the configuration guide (out the box it's setup for 16:9). Due to its reliance on certain plugin features, the current version of this theme requires LB version 9+. Currently, this theme forces the use of WMP because of better performance and stability; though this can be changed easily if you look at the included PDF file.
    NOTE: Unblocking the ZIP file will also unblock the DLLs (e.g., Ao.Bigbox.Themer.dll and others) contained therein, giving your computer permission to run these DLLs. This is an issue with all plugins you might download from this forum. It's a Windows security feature. You basically have to vouch for a file before Windows will use it. I liken it to how a MS office document you download from an email runs in Protected Mode until you unblock it for printing, editing, etc. Below is the error you'll see if you don't unblock the file, as well as a screenshot of the solution.

  5. Nostalgia

    Nostalgia uses the amazing platform videos created by @viking to create a per-system theme; thanks to viking for letting me derive from and name my theme after his work. It's designed for 16:9; tested at HD but not 4k since I don't have a 4k setup. Please let me know if you spot problems or have suggestions. It relies on a set of plugin controls I created, so you'll have to unblock either the entire zip file, or more specifically the DLL files in the theme's Plugins folder (see below). Due to its reliance on certain plugin features, the current version of this theme requires LB version 9+ (Nostalgia 1.0-beta-7 works with LB version 7.10+, and you can download prior versions of Nostalgia via the changelog section on this page). Bundled with Nostalgia are some clear logos from viking's silver ring set, along with a few extras. Also bundled are platform banners created by @Grila and @Omen. For the best experience (including CRT curvature effects for videos), I recommend setting BigBox to use Windows Media Player.
    Platform Views: Background as the current platform (from viking's video set) including a video playing within the arcade cabinet, TV screen, etc. If there is no video for the selected platform, category, or playlist, a random list of relevant game videos are played instead. If no vids are available, screenshots are used. Platform, category, or playlist details are displayed to the left of the screen. Game Views: Selected game is displayed within a platform-specific background. If no game video exists, the game's screenshots are played as a slideshow while the game's soundtrack (if found in your LB setup) is played in the background. If neither game nor screenshots exist, a video of TV static plays. Game details are displayed to the left of the screen. Filter Views: E.g., Genres, Series, etc -- in this view, a random list of game videos for the selected Series, etc. will play. KNOWN ISSUES: (1) 3DS and DS videos do not display properly. This is due to how they were captured, i.e., with both screens on these dual screen devices being squished into a single video. A potential workaround is to crop out the auxiliary screen from these videos and use on the part from the main screen. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. I think handbrake would work for batch cropping. (2) There are missing platform backgrounds. I tried to include the most common platforms. Viking's background set is quite thorough; please send me any requests.

  6. FluxCRT

    FluxCRT is a relatively simple text view-based retro theme. It's designed for 16:9 monitors and displays filter and game videos (or screenshots) in a 4:3 format, using the Ao.Bigbox.Themer video engine. FluxCRT applies a CRT barrel distortion effect when using Windows Media Player. Currently, FluxCRT forces the use of WMP because of better performance and stability; this can be changed if you look at the included PDF file. It's bundled with a collection of category, playlist, and platform banners; to which one can easily add their own banners. Due to its reliance on certain plugin features, the current version of this theme requires LB version 9+.
    CUSTOMIZATION: See bundled PDF documents. FluxCRT was designed and tested on a 1920x1080 display with 100% (default) text scaling, so you might need to adjust the font sizes (should pertain to options page only) if your display is otherwise; edit the font sizes at the top part of FluxCRT.xaml in the Styles directory as needed.
7. MinimalX

    MinimalX started as a variant of Grila's MinimalHD. It was first released in 2016 as Minimal-AO, and after incorporating a slew of plugins I rebranded it as of version 5.0 MinimalX. Due to its reliance on certain plugin features, MinimalX requires LB version 9+ (Minimal-AO runs on older versions of LB, and you can still download it here but I do not plan to update AO). In many ways, MinimalX more closely resembles Grila's MinimalHD. I wanted to emphasize a simple setup and design elements that gracefully degrade if you are missing metadata for some games, etc. Its views have a consistent layout which I think makes navigation very easy. I settled on displaying all videos at 4:3 because I think that's better than displaying all at 16:9, and I think they look nice that way. Like AO, MinimalX is skinnable; for instructions how to customize MinimalX and turn some features off/on (for example if you want to see metadata in the sidebar as in the final two screenshots), read the PDF document bundled with the download. Some of the features:
    System Info: Just because I wanted to figure out how to display that stuff. Metadata Banners: Such as category, platform, genre, play mode, star rating etc. Icon-augmented Text List: For quickly navigating based on a platform or game metadata. Dynamic List Header: Helps you keep track of where you are when navigating through BigBox. AO Video Engine: It will by default play the current category, platform, or game video. If a platform (or playlist or filter) video is not found, it will loop through a random selection of that platform's games with crossfading action. If no platform or game videos are found, it will fall back to looping through a set of pertinent images. For game views, if a game video is not found, it will play a slideshow of the game's title screen, options, gameplay, etc, while the game music (if available) plays. The video engine supports VLC and WMP as configured in BigBox, though by default it's forced to WMP because this works better at this point and is more stable than VLC. NOTE: Unblocking the ZIP file will also unblock the DLL (e.g., Ao.Bigbox.Themer.dll) contained therein, giving your computer permission to run this DLL.

    If you still want to use the 'ol Minimal-AO, you can download it on this page, and here is the support thread:
    And here is a shameless plug for my other themes:
    Refaktor - clean text-based view to suit 16:9 or 4:3 displays Nostalgia - displays videos within viking's clean platform images FluxCRT - displays videos within a mock CRT including curvature effect Epoch09 - post-apocalyptic flavored theme (still a work in progress)

  8. Holly

    This is a theme that I've been hacking away at for a while.
    It has 4 views -- A fullscreen video view with and without scanlines and a widescreen view with and without scanlines.
    I included all the playlist logos that I created.
    I was inspired by the Chicuelo theme.
    Just exact the folder "Holly" into your themes directory and install the font.

  9. Unified Redux

    Unified Redux is a very slight re-imagining of @CriticalCid's amazing Unified theme, focusing on minor tweaks to improve the experience based on the LaunchBox developer's personal preferences. Changes from the original theme are listed below:
    Rounder wheels Much faster-spinning discs Wheel shadows Videos maintain their aspect ratios Smoother transitions in a few spots Top bar modified to prevent triangle corner overlap issues Version 1.6 - Released December 3, 2018 (REQUIRES LAUNCHBOX\BIG BOX 9.1):
    Added a new PrioritizedPathSelector plugin, which helps to ensure that proper images are shown for complicated playlist scenarios (multiple fallback priorities, etc.) Version 1.5 - Released November 26, 2018 (REQUIRES LAUNCHBOX\BIG BOX 9.1):
    Fixed issue with Arcade/MAME playlists not using proper media Version 1.4 - Released November 15, 2018 (REQUIRES LAUNCHBOX\BIG BOX 9.0):
    Pointer images will now change when entering into nested platforms and categories Year and manufacturer text will no longer show up on platform views when those values don't exist Publisher listed in the game details has been changed to developer, which is more important information to display Developer, genre, and play mode text will no longer show up on game views when those values don't exist Ratings displayed in the game views now show your personal rating instead of the community rating, if you've previously rated the game Version 1.3 - Released November 12, 2018 (REQUIRES LAUNCHBOX\BIG BOX 9.0):
    Added much better support for the new nested categories and playlists in LaunchBox\Big Box 9.0 (no more black screens) Version 1.2 - Released August 31, 2018:
    Removed Grila's weather plugin. As awesome as it is, it was causing 1-2 second delays loading up every view. Version 1.1 - Released August 30, 2018:
    Background images revamped (and in some cases removed) for common platforms in order to increase readability of the wheels and remove JPEG artifacts (many of the Classics playlists had backgrounds with horrible artifacts from Hyperspin). Thanks to @RetroHumanoid for many of the new backgrounds. Removed the default Big Box logo for platforms or playlists with no logos. Even we're not that in love with the Big Box logo. Added background fanart images for some playlists that will show up if there are no videos for that playlist; previously the theme was showing a black screen in this case. Reduced the size of the theme by over 350 MB by converting the background images from PNGs to maximum-quality JPGs. There is no perceived quality loss and now the theme is less than half the size. Modified/removed some of the video borders with characters in order to better support the new arcade playlists (some of them were irrelevant to arcade games) and make room for arcade flyer images, which used to half-overlap the characters. Highly recommended: Modify your "Images" > "3D Box Priorities" settings in LaunchBox to include "Box - Front" and "Advertisement Flyer - Front" images in order to display regular box or arcade flyer images if no 3D box image exists.
    Please note: You will need to completely delete the previous version of the theme before putting in the new version in order to get all the updates (such as removing the Big Box logo and the space-saving JPG files).
    Demo Video:

    Examples of changes/additions to the 1.1 version of the theme:

    Please see @CriticalCid's original Unified theme for installation and troubleshooting instructions. Requires LaunchBox Big Box 8.0 or greater.
    Huge thanks goes out to @CriticalCid for the original theme, as well as the many different Hyperspin contributors who donated their time and talent to build an awesome, cohesive experience:

  10. CoverBox

    Please note: This is not a complete theme. Instead, it is a set of themes, each one designed around a particular retro system.
    Ever since BigBox allowed you to have different themes for each platform, I've wanted to undertake a project like this. The CoverBox project is one where my goal is to recreate retro console's boxart as a BigBox Theme. Each Theme will consist of 1 or 2 game views, specifically designed for 1 system in mind. This is NOT a complete theme, but a game view meant to be used with your favorite theme of choice.
    I will be trying to make each theme in this set as light-weight as possible, trying to get the best performance out of Bigbox. Each theme is designed for 1080p.
    P.S. I created graphic assets for the star ratings. Please feel free to use them in your theme.
    Most of the themes utilize the HelperControl by @NJDave71 and ListBox Scroll Center for BigBox by @Grila  (Thanks!).

  11. Chicuelo

    The theme idea comes from Chicuelo EmulationStation Theme for RetroPie.
    The theme has two Platform views, an image view and a video view. It also has two Game views.

    - Works on a range of resolutions (The Games List view works best on 1920 x 1080 as the selected game dot does not resize and centre on resolutions other than 1920 x 1080. If anyone knows how to fix it let me know and I'll upload the newer version)
    - Install the supplied Fonts located in the Fonts folder
    If you end up making further images for the Platform image view, upload them and I can include in the set.
    Thanks to the following people for the help on various things!

  15. RetroFresh

    This theme was designed to add as little overhead as possible, while giving a clean and simplistic view of the content. To do this I decided on not adding any images at all, and instead used XAML to build all the elements. When zipped, the entire theme comes out around 300KB. RetroFresh works with your own media and uses them as its centerpiece. Hope you guys enjoy.

  16. Four-By-Three

    Hi, I've designed this theme to work with every 4:3 resolution up to 3200x2400. I did the graphics and @wallmachine did the coding. This theme is a variant of the ARCANE theme. I changed some codes and did a new Platform View and added some new graphic. The theme uses custom banners for each platform showing the corrispettive controller, if you want a specific platform banner let me know (Note that i didn't draw all the banners, i search and modify other images). The theme also uses custom platform logos. If you have questions or problems, let me know! PS: Sorry for my english.
    Notes:
    Install the font inside the zip file in order to make the theme work. If you don't like the icons in the platform wheel (the star and the clock) i've put a background without them in Images\Core, simply overwrite the old background with the new one. The playmode icons work like this: The icons with the plus sign are for all the modes with more than 2 players and for the multiplayer tag. For the modes "Alternating" the icons will be trasparent. For the non-favorited games, the star will appear black and trasparent, otherwise will appear yellow. Features:
    The platform view shows the controller of the system selected, and the Favorited\Recent games wheels. The game view shows a playmode icon and a favorited icon. Under the game title shows the Publisher - Genres - Year of the game, And of course the Video\Screenshot with the Front cover. Video\Screenshots don't stretch but they maintain aspect ratio, so for example vertical arcade games do not look weird. For videos and screenshots that doesn't have 4:3 aspect ratio will have black bars to avoid stretching.     Known issues: The videos and screenshots with low res (320x240) scales at 300x240 with black bars on the right\left sides, even though the grid has the same aspect ratio. However this doesn't happen with videos\screenshots with 640x480+ res. The genres are seperated like this "Action;Platform" but i would like to separe them like this "Action, Platform" But i don't know how to do it. Currently supported custom banners and logos:

  17. Mr. RetroLust's Marquee Screen Filler Magic

    Mr. RetroLust's Marquee Screen Filler Magic
    Introduction:
    This is for those that like to fill the surrounding empty (black) space of their Marquee screens while maintaining the original Marquee's aspect ratio, what these replacement .xaml files do is duplicate the marquee with a blur effect on the background while the original marquee has a drop shadow, a technique often seen on TV when dealing with Vertical Video Syndrome material (a terrible disease btw, but that's another topic)
    Installation:
    Go to the theme folder of your choice: Launchbox\Themes\*name of the theme*\Views
    Backup the following files! In case you want to revert back to these Marquee files: GameMarqueeView.xaml and PlatformMarqueeView.xaml
    Extract the .xaml files in the zipfile to this folder, start BigBox and see the magic unfold
    Have fun.

    ·       The UI has been re-designed
    ·     5 Views per Platform and Game (4 x Horizontal and 1 Text)
    ·       The supplied Configurator.exe makes it easy for the end user to personalize the Theme from color options, wallpaper, video borders, video border overlays and the use of Clear Logos, Boxes etc..
    ·       Contains a new plugin, game genre and play modes are now represented with the use of icons!! The typical “Action;Platformer;Shooter” text is no more!
    ·       Code and graphics have been optimized, ensuring the user experience is not degraded even when the Theme is running on a lower spec system.

    Note:  Theme works very very well on a GPD Win2, no performance issues whatsoever.

  21. BIGFLIX

    BIGFLIX as the name suggests is a variation of Netflix for BigBox, the theme uses some assets from the popular streaming giant while offering a twist of its own. The theme introduces many features to enrich the user experience such as personalized user profile and banners support that takes the aesthetic looks to a whole new level. BIGFLIX was designed for users who enjoy using Big Box on a large HDTV and HTPCs with supported resolutions up to 4K but it should also scale nicely on PC monitors that supports 16:9 aspect ratio.
    As of BIGFLIX v1.1 and onwards, the theme will come in two variations:
    BIGFLIX: The original theme will stay faithful to the Netflix formula and is designed for users who wants authentic experience for their HTPCs that mimics the popular streaming giant UI.
    BIGFLIX PLUS: A theme variation of Bigflix created for the community using their feedback (i.e. keeping the original aspect ratios of videos and wallpapers, removing timer/buffer animations, fixing boxart overlapping for odd systems (PSX), weather and time plugin, Grilla's ListBox Scroll Center plugin, and many more! ). BIGFLIX Plus is constantly adapting to include latest community features while staying true to the original BIGFLIX experience.

  23. Unified

    This theme is a port of the HyperSpin Unified Widescreen Megatheme project, which was originally started by gibbawho and continued by many other talented artists over the years. It’s supposed to bring a unified look (hence the name) across all platforms while giving every platform it’s own individual touch.
    I’ve tried to stay very close to the original look and feel but also took some creative freedom, especially when it comes to the new fading info panel at the bottom of the screen.
    This theme was designed for 16:9 screens and display resolutions only. Big Box will automatically scale itself to a 16:9 aspect ratio when you use a different aspect ratio on your machine.

    Features:
    Individual Artwork for a lot of different platforms and playlists + some alternatives you can choose from Matches with the Unified platform video set from EmuMovies Fully animated wheel pointer Spinning discs for disc-based platforms Various other custom animations Uses the weather plugin by @Grila Templates to build your own platform artwork are included as .psd files Brings a small taste of the HyperSpin feeling to your Big Box setup
    Currently featured Views:
    Games Text List View: 3D Box Games Vertical Wheel View 1: 3D Box Games Vertical Wheel View 2: 3D Box + static cart/disc Games Vertical Wheel View 3: 3D Box + rotating disc Games Vertical Wheel View 4: Fullscreen video
    Platform Vertical Wheel View 1: Fullscreen video + scrolling text Platform Vertical Wheel View 2: Fullscreen video without scrolling text More Views are planned, so stay tuned.

    The theme includes artwork for the following 198 Platforms/Playlists:

    The Add-on package includes artwork for the following 295 playlists:

    The theme will also display a default artwork for Platforms/Playlists which are not yet covered or wrongly named.

    How to install:
    This theme only works on LaunchBox version 8.2 or higher!
    Just download the archive and extract it to:  “..\LaunchBox\Themes\” Go to the “Plugins” folder inside of the extracted folder and right-click on of the .dll files. Choose Properties -> Click on “Unblock” at the bottom of the window. Close the window. Repeat that for all .dll files in that folder. If the "Unblock" button isn't there than you are already good to go. Open the Options menu in Big Box -> go to “Views” and change the Theme to "Unified". Change the “Games List View” and “Platforms List View” to one of the currently featured Views that are listed above. Make sure that in the Big Box Options -> Views –> “Show Games List Title” is enabled. Info: Never rename the theme folder! The theme folder has to be named exactly "Unified" or the theme won't work properly! (that's btw. an universal tip for all other themes as well)

    How to install the Add-on package:
    Just extract the contents of the .zip file into your LaunchBox folder.
    Note: You have to create the proper playlists for the collections yourself!

    How to change the location and temperature measurement unit for the Weather plugin:
    1.    Close BigBox in case you have it opened up
    2.    Visit the website http://www.woeidlookup.com/ and search for a location of your choice
    3.    Go to the “Plugins” folder inside the Unified theme folder
            Path: “..\LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Plugins”
    4.    Open the “GrilaBBWeather.dll.config” with a text editor of your choice. For example: Notepad
    5.    Copy the WOEID from the website and replace the already existing ID in the config file with it
    6.    If you want to change the temperature unit from Fahrenheit to Celsius just change the “f” under Units to a “c”
    7.    Save the config file and you’re done

    Known issues:
    The logo of the Platform/Playlist and the individual video border don't show up in the Game Details screen and the theme displays the generic Big Box logo and metallic video border instead when it gets opened through any other Games View than the Text List View.

    Tips for tweaking your LaunchBox setup for this theme:
    In LaunchBox: Tools -> Options -> Cart Front Priorities -> Select all Cart and Disc related entries, deselect everything else. In Big Box: Options ->Transitions -> Change "Game Image/Video Transition” to “Fade” In Big Box: To avoid spinning cart art go to: Options -> Views -> Make sure that „Remember separate View for each platform” is checked. Than go either to the Keyboard Mappings or the Controller Buttons settings and set up a key/button for “Switch View”. Now you can go back to your platforms and switch the games Views for each platform individually on the fly. Use the Unified Platform videos from EmuMovies for an overall uniform look. You can either download them as free user from the EmuMovies website or if you are an EmuMovies premium user you can get them directly through LaunchBox under: Tools -> "Download Platform/Playlist Theme Videos".
    What is the Add-on package?
    The theme itself will always only include artwork for Platforms and Playlists that also have a Unified Platform video available on EmuMovies in order to provide a seamless experience. Everything else goes into the Add-on package.
    More generic playlists like franchises, series, genres, etc. are also only included in the Add-on package to avoid that the theme gets unnecessarily blown up it in its size.
    The same goes for everything that differs too much from the default Unified style.

    Individual platform artwork not showing up?:
    The media files that are inside the “..\LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Images\Theme\..” folder have to be named exactly like your platforms inside LaunchBox. I've went with the HyperList/RocketLauncher naming conventions for the filenames in this package.
    If Big Box doesn’t show any individual artwork for a system that is listed above you may need to manually rename the relevant files for that platform in all four sub-folders.
    Also make sure that in the Big Box Options -> Views –> “Show Games List Title” is enabled!

    Discs are not spinning / showing up?:
    Make sure you have the right Games List View selected and Disc images in your Cart Image Priorities enabled (see the tips section of this download description).

  24. Modernist

    This is my latest theme and has taken many weeks of work to get to this stage. A big thank you to @eatkinola for his assistance with getting the video plugin working.
    The theme is loosely based on the Netflix interface and is designed to be a clean dark theme with an emphasis on fanart and videos. The plugin is included within the theme for the videos to work correctly. As with Netflix the theme is designed to show the fanart for approx. 4 seconds before then fading in the video. As the videos do not use the inbuilt Launchbox control and instead use the plugin I have found the experience smoother with the video option set to Windows Media Player rather than VLC and have not experienced any issues in doing this though your mileage may vary so if one doesn't work/stutters try the other.
    There is one platform view in this theme and 7 Game views. The Game views are clear logos vertical, screenshots vertical 4:3 format, screenshots vertical 16:9 format, horizontal clear logos, horizontal screenshots 4:3, horizontal screenshots 16:9 and a two row Wall View.
    The game details screen includes full controller layout for the various platforms (all major ones covered) and there is a template file included for Gimp GNU in the theme/images/controls folder should you wish to change the control images / styles.
    As always comments and suggestions welcome.
    Enjoy!

  25. CoverBox Wii U Theme

    Hi there, this is my first ever theme that I made as an extension to the excellent Coverbox themes made by @faeran if you want more platform-specific themes, go check out his Coverbox main theme down below. I recommend using this with Coverbox. However, this theme is different compared to others that it's actually a theme that only plays when you are on the Wii U game selection screen. In order to make it work you have to do the following:
    1. Head over to Options in the Big Box Menu
    2. Scroll down to Keyboard Shortcuts
    3. Look through the list of options until you find "Switch Theme".
    4. Choose a key for the shortcut and head over to your Wii U Platform Game Selection Screen
    5. Press the Key and choose the theme from the list that pops up.
    6. Congratulations you now have a Wii U Theme that launches no matter what another theme you're using.
    I hope that this theme will help you show off your Wii U collection even more and I will soon upload Wii U Video Snaps so stay tuned.
