  1. I have an Acer XB27OH. I actually purchased a gaming PC on Craigslist, sold all the parts on ebay and kept the monitor. Cost me nothing in t;he end.
  2. If you are using this as a desktop build than Yeah I would most definitely suggest a more modern display. 144hz monitors are expensive but AMAZING.
  3. The sell HDMI to DVI cables though. Then you run into issues with resolutions...
  4. I got them about a year ago, I believe on the PD tracker. I'll look into acquiring another set... Ugh I just dont want to sort through them again.
  5. Man... If you are building a cabinet primarily to play old games, I would seriously stray away from 16:9 monitor. You should be able to score Craigslist for a 4:3 monitor very cheap. I was lucky and found a Dell 20" 4:3 monitor, which are relatively scarce at that size. (I believe the largest 4:3 ever produced was 21" and I am always on the lookout for one.) A 16:9 monitor is honestly an utter waste. The black bars on either side will always be there serving no purpose. I don't get these flashy Hyperspin setups with huge 16:9 monitors, only to load up a game and there be black bars on either side. I do agree with lordmonkus however on the freesync monitor argument. I also have an Asus 144hz and it is just spectacular... but I use it for modern games. Yes, the old monitors have a bit more noticeable input lag - but for me it works great.
  6. Hey guys, I am trying to get my Arcade games working. Some load, some don't. Some load on one Retroarch Core, others on different cores. Basically, is there a way to use different cores for different games within the same Platform? Thanks.
  7. Yeah sorry guys, still learning the Retroarch thing, it's a bit confusing, huh? I actually ended up increasing the Overlay scale for use on my television. Thank you so much for the tip! I will try and add configs with future updates!

Use this overlay coupled with Retroarch's gb-light-shader.cgp and the results are amazing! From my in progress "Subtle Dark" series. Perfect for hiding those black bars, while not making too much of a statement.

  10. Keep in mind the icons will most likely be only a couple hundred pixels across so any fine details will be lost.
  11. I am thinking transparent PNG files. Do them much like the way Nintendo does for their Wii box art when they denote compatible controllers Example:
  12. Virtual Boy Overlay - "Subtle Dark" Series View File I sort of conceived this Idea for a "Virtual Boy Pocket", much like Nintendo's decision to make a redundant console like the 2DS - why not make one with the Virtual Boy? 14. I dig it. I wonder if it could be automated through the Launchbox database when getting metadata?
  15. Hi! First want to say, Jason, Launchbox is awesome. It is everything I wish Hyperspin could have been back when I built my arcade cabinet. Long nights and bad headaches... Just wasn't worth it. Launchbox is obviously far superior. I have a pretty decent setup right now on my PC with Launchbox, and I have been streaming it via Gamestream on my Nvidia Shield TV console. Works great too. My question is, has anyone with a Shield succesfully setup multiple controllers? I have two Shield controllers connected, but both register button presses to player one. I have not played with it much, but I figured I would ask first. BTW, this is in RetroArch, so that may be a factor in it as well. Thanks!
