  1. Your could turn off the game details and set a keyboard or controller key in the BB options to go to the game details screen. I recently went this route, no longer have to click play twice to start a game and I still have access to the game details and launch with if I need them.
  2. If you are using the platform category view and wanting to use the individual add ons, yeah, you literally have to go into each playlist and change the theme. Unless someone knows of a different way. I noticed when you try to change the theme anywhere but inside the playlist, it wants to change the global theme. i dont think its an issue with RH's theme, i think it is how BB is displaying the nested playlists and how the theme is applied, but what do i know.
  3. yes. using the platform category view, with 1.61, no specific border (Konami Classics). once i copied the borders from the arcade addon into the default theme. everything worked as it should.
  4. I knew i should have went to bed. lol in testing with platform category view, the arcade systems/playlists do not have the specific video borders anymore. I noticed the border images were moved out of the default theme/video border folder and put in the arcade add on's video border folder. if i copy the borders over to the default they work fine. also, i have a couple of arcade playlists in my main platform wheel and when using the platform view, they lacked the proper border. again, copying the borders over fixed the issue. not sure of the other issues but it was working pretty good after the couple of tweaks earlier today. ?
  5. is this to fix the issue i had earlier today? or were there other changes?
  6. Thanks. was curious on that one. I like the bigger box with smaller cart. Some of them the cart/disc is too big and covers the box art. Havent had the time?? I can't imagine why? all the work on the new logos and a new addition to the fam? i tip my hat and kudos to you for all the eye candy you have brought to the scene. THANK YOU!! ?
  7. That fixed it!! One other thing i noticed in going through the different views and add-on themes is the box art seems to vary in size from view to view and even the add-on sometimes has a different size. Was this intentional? I havent dug into the xaml code to see if i can maybe spot the line that references and see the size differences. I was happy i found the setting to enable 4x3. Go me.
  8. well, i spoke to soon. i broke it again. going back and forth between unified redux and refried, the arcade border is back. ? Platform Category/Consoles/Nintendo Consoles/Nintendo 64/All Games playlist Platform Category/Consoles/Nintendo Consoles/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Action playlist
  9. sorry, let me try again. I have been messing with everything over the last hour, not sure what i did but the arcade border seems to have gone away from the consoles/handhelds but the playlists still show the default border and not the platform specific. Default theme, view platform categories options, when i go into any platform other than arcade (handhelds, console, computers) that have the newly generated playlists, the video border is the default white and not platform specific border. Systems that do not have any playlists show the correct platform specific border when using the category view. The arcade platform category/playlist works as intended using the default theme, the video border changes depending on the playlist type.
  10. LB 9.1 and new Refried 1.6. When i use the platform category view, i am still getting the Arcade video border in "All Games" and no platform logo above the video in the other playlists for categories other than arcade. The arcade platform category works perfectly, showing the playlist in the arcade marquee and changing the video border. This was an issue before, was this fixed in the 1.6 update or is it just my setup?
  11. no worries. just wanted to put it out there in case it was an issue or if it was just me. Custom playlists only do the default silver border but i am thinking that is more a capability of BB. I am not sure if there is a way to have the video border change based on the platform the game is from, so it probably just uses a default border.
  12. on the new 9.0 with auto-generated playlists, i am getting the arcade video border for the "all games" playlists in the console, computer and handhelds category with the default Refried theme. Also, in the category view, the other playlists show the default silver border and not the platform specific border. Not sure if this is a bug with the theme or due to the new version of LB/BB, or just my setup. The unified redux theme works fine.
  13. Ahh, i understand now. Thought you were looking for the theme, not the platform video. I don;t think RH has put out a refried aes video, It's not perfect but you could copy and rename the MVS video and use that for the time being.
Excellent theme, even without the add-ons. The arcade add-on is a must have though. The changing marquee on the video cab is something i have not seen in a theme before, especially video marquees. My go to theme on my main LB build.
  14. Yeah, but the average downloader isnt as obsessed about tweaking as some are. its the joy of the hobby. one of these days we might actually get to play these games. lol
  15. I see what you mean. I managed to get a modified cab work with the arcade platform. But I now realize you would have to do the same thing for every one of the cabinets in the video border folder. As someone said, you do great work so fast! ?
  16. I am not much good with photo editing, I tried using paint (MAJOR FAIL) to cut out the default marquee but lost all transparency and nothing showed. Would it be possible to have a Arcade video border with just a plain grayish or transparent marquee background that the clear logo could show over. may not be a perfect solution but might work.
  17. Is it possible to have the theme to look for a secondary image in the event the marquee folder doesnt have the needed image. I set clear logo as a backup just to try, they fit pretty well, but the default Arcade marquee bleeds through. Are the marquees set to completely cover the default and its actually there, just hidden behind the marquee logo?
  18. Works perfectly and even picks up jpg images, as well images in the region folders. Now to go through and see what marquees I am missing.
  19. I agree, not rushed. That's what we are here for, testing to find the bugs. lol It's a really cool idea, especially the video marquee. I've never used another frontend so I am not sure if this has been before. I managed to get the cabinet to show with the code change. @RetroHumanoid, do any of the values in those lines change the size of the cart image? One other item of note on the marquees, they have to be .png files, the theme does not pick up .jpg.
  20. I am not talking about the video marquee. Its the static marquee. In the instructions it says you can use a symbolic link to use the launchbox arcade marquee folder instead of having 2 folders containing the same images. Anyone who knows how to do symbolic links, can use that to connect the Marquees folder to the Arcade images marquees folder as well. The issue is that the Theme is looking for the rom naming convention and not the game name. I even tried using the themes default marquee folder and putting in the Marvel Super Heroes-01 image, no luck. As soon as i renamed it to msh, it worked right away, without a image cache refresh.
  21. Awesome update to the arcade theme. Pretty sure i did the symbolic link right for the arcade marquees but they are not working using the default naming from launchbox, "Game name-01". I renamed the symbolic link folder to match the folder "marquees" but the only way the dynamic marquee is reflected is if i manually rename the marquee name in the arcade marquee folder to the actual rom name. Not sure if there is a way to have the xaml fuzzy match or we need to rename the files to match the rom name. I do miss having the 3D box as part of the dynamic, clear logo view. ? I like using the arcade cab as the 3D box. Edit: also, with the symbolic link, the files cannot be in the region folders created by launchbox.
  22. A lot of the addon's have the same video border as the main them. There may be a small graphical difference but the handful i have changed are the same border. The sizing may be different based on the system, but the look is the same. Look at the instructions Neil posted, there are screenshot examples of the differences in the main theme and the addons.
  23. The add-ons should go in the LaunchBox/Themes folder. The same folder as the main Refried theme. Extract the individual systems into the folder. Be sure you have a change theme keyboard shortcut set in BigBox. Installation: 1.Download the Default theme,as well as any platform themes you would like, and place them separately in the themes folder located at Launchbox/Themes. The structure should look like this.. Unified Refried Unified Refried - Atari 2600 Unified Refried - Atari 5200 etc.
