I noticed that a lot of my games have a blank value for the "Max # of players" field. If I check the game in the DB, the value exists. Updating the game by re-selecting the game in the LB DB does correctly populate the field value. How can I bulk-update this by checking the DB? The bulk edit feature is only for manually setting the value. Is there any way to do this without manually setting it for individual games?

Launchbox + Steam overlay using the Guide button is driving me insane
drw4013 replied to drw4013's topic in Troubleshooting
I did try that: "no way to change it - save for disabling the Guide button completely, which then breaks the ability to even bring up the BB Pause Menu when in Steam." Is there a way to still use it to bring up the BB pause menu if I disable it in Steam?- 3 replies

I set up Launchbox to use the Xbox controller Guide button to pull up the BigBox pause screen/menu. This works great for every platform...except Steam. When running a Steam game from BB, when I hit the Guide button, it does pull up the BB pause screen. But when I select "Resume Game", I am take to the Steam BigPicture home page. I then have to go into the Steam Library and "restart" the game, even though it is already running. This makes no sense. When starting a game directly from Steam without BB running, the guide button brings up the Steam in-game overlay correctly - allowing me to choose "Resume Game", "On-Screen Keyboard", etc. In my Steam controller settings, the "Guide button focuses Steam" is disabled. Just to be sure, I enabled that, but the issue was unchanged. Ideally, I'd like to change the Steam overlay to a different button altogether to remove any overlap using the Guide button in BB so I could access both separately. However, Steam has the Overlay locked to the Guide button with no way to change it - save for disabling the Guide button completely, which then breaks the ability to even bring up the BB Pause Menu when in Steam. So at the very least, I'd like to find a way to correct the issue where the Steam BigPicture home page is brought up instead of the game overlay menu. Any ideas on how to correct this?

I have a Mayflash Dolphinbar setup with real Wiimotes. Currently, I navigate through Launchbox with a Harmony remote or Xbox One controller, then use the Wiimote for Dolphin (mode 4 on Dolphinbar). As I understand it, I could choose to switch the Dolphinbar to Mode 1 to have it emulate a mouse, and that would work for navigating Launchbox. When going through multiple Dolphin games, however, it would obviously not be ideal to have to walk up to the Dolphinbar and switch back and forth between Mode 1 and Mode 4 using the physical switch on the back. Is there any way to have the Launchbox pick up specific Mode 4 commands - like a button combo to pull up the BigBox pause screen - even when in Mode 4? Maybe something with AutoHotkey? Just brainstorming here. Thanks.

I might have missed an update to this post...were the other Xbox One controller images (N64, Playstation etc.) ever posted anywhere?

I had this working on previous install, so it has to be something small tripping me up. WiiMotes sync exactly the same way through LB/BB as when launching Dolphin standalone: wiimote vibrates, wiimote light 1 (or 2-4 for multiple) lights up, dolphinbar shows mode 4 light and sync light. The only difference is that button presses are unresponsive when launching through LB/BB. Command Line options for launching Dolphin: -b -e (this worked on a previous install). I checked both Dolphin and Launchbox to make sure neither were using Admin privileges because I've read that can cause issues.

I am using a Mayflash Dolphinbar a 4 real Wiimotes. This works perfectly when launching games directly through the Dolphin emulator. However, when I launch the Dolphin emulator through LaunchBox or BigBox, the Wiimotes do not work (which makes no sense to me since LB/BB is just launching the same exact emulator). I am using Mode 4 on the DolphinBar, which should be the correct mode to use actual Wiimotes. Could anyone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this? Is there something in LB/BB that would override or prevent the Wiimotes form working?

I have just set up Future Pinball. Launching tables works without issue using the command line text detailed above. However, when I press the same Launchbox menu button that brings me to the BigBox game menu for any other emulator, nothing happens when in Future Pinball. I verified the key is not mapped at all in the Future Pinball controller config. Does anyone know if there is a specific AutoHotkey setup needed in the emulator settings to enter/exit the Launchbox menu from Future Pinball?

That is exactly it. Thanks for the clarification!

I used to use the video path in the Audit tool quite frequently. Now the Video URL field is blank for every entry, regardless of whether it has a video. Did this change in a recent version?

Anyone know if this is possible?

Retroachievements is working fine for supported platforms, but the game options menu item ("View Achievements") shows up in BigBox for unsupported platforms (Wii, etc.). Is there a way to remove that from the menu for just those unsupported platforms?

No luck on the Launchbox subreddit, so I'll give it a shot here: I use the back button to return to the previous screen in BigBox. This works without issue, until I exit Dolphin by using the BigBox game menu to exit a game. Dolphin closes correctly and I am returned to the game screen. When I then hit the back button, BigBox immediately closes. I normally use the ESC key to exit BigBox. What is causing the Back button functionality to change to the ESC key after I exit Dolphin? Thanks.

Unlike a keyboard, media remote, or Xbox One Controller, a Wiimote connected through a Mayflash DolphinBar doesn't send button presses when mapping buttons in the BigBox options menus. Currently once I start a Dolphin game, I have to switch back to the standard remote or controller to exit the Dolphin game and select a new one. Ideally I would be able to use the Wiimote to access the BigBox Pause screen (using the Wiimote Home button), exit the game, and then scroll through the Wii list in BigBox to start another game. Is there any sort of workaround that would allow me to use the Wiimote's buttons to to send keyboard or controller commands to Launchbox?

How to update your MAME ROMset to a newer version with CLRmamepro
drw4013 replied to SentaiBrad's topic in Emulation
Is there any site that details the list of games added with each new ROMset version? I'm not sure which version I have, so I imagine the only way to verify would be to check for the newest games I have and compare to that list (if it exists anywhere). -
Select platform -> press left to access A-Z menu -> scroll to letter -> press right to access game list -> select game -> Play game -> exit game -> hit back button this takes you back and forth from the game list to the A-Z list repeatedly, no matter how many times you press the back button. The only way to get back to the platform list is to press right from the A-Z list into the game list first. Shouldn't you be able to just hit the back button repeatedly to get all the way back to the platform list?

Did this field get added to the list for a future release yet? I'm still looking for a way to manually link a game to a retroachievements entry. The auto-matching misses some still. If not, is there any way to manually make the link in the database?
