  1. ^_^

I am a little worried, I am starting to understand what are you telling me...is it my first step in the wizard world?

Anyway, I have searched in the xml and xaml files of the theme that I want to change. I use notepad++ and I used the search function, that I have already used to make some changes in the past (maybe some tips that you told me in the past ❤️)

I have found nothing about that, there is no a "flowvideo" setting.

I try a supposition (dont laugh! 😂), maybe it is a setting that does not appear in the theme because it cant be changed. How I can say it...it is a base configuration.

Ok, I have cast my magical theory!

(About 30 years ago, I have studied Pascal+, maybe Cobol, at school...then I forgot all and started to study human science...and I am studying it yet)

    Thank you again Joe ^_^

  2. At the moment we have BB remembers Separate view and theme for each Platform and playlist

I’d like to have the same for each category.

So, if I enter my ARCADE category I see a theme and a specific view

But if I enter COMPUTER category I can have a different theme with a different view.

I hope it does not require too much work

I think it can be very fun to have

I don't know much about theme editing, but looking at the documentation, it looks like you can manually set the video type.

It's something called VideoType under FlowVideo (Introduced in 11.10) which is a control inside of a FlowTemplate.

    Dear Joe,

First of all, thank you a lot for your reply!

You have to understand that you are like a Scientist talking to a medieval guy. I read and I think it is magic! ^_^

I have searched a file named "flowtemplate" but I have not found it...then I have just waited a second, looked into me...and nothing, I know my limit ^_^

But I want to thank you again, because you have tried to help me a lot of times, and you also made a lot of hyper useful tool that I use!

So, my Wizard Lord, I hope you never cast a magic against me!

    ^_^

My theme Omni also has a link to it in Game Details if you were looking to do it that way.

I was a fan of your Beats theme. I'd loved it. But I have installed Omni to try it. It was updated...it is wonderful C-Beats, great works!

  5. Hi all!

I can set only 1 video priorities set, am I right?

I'd like having a different video priorities on different theme, for example.

Some theme works better with Theme Video, others works better with snap video. I cannot save it, I have to change every time, right? Or I am missing something?

Thank you all for your time!

  6. Sorry my total noobish

I have linked my DB to my LB

and I have enabled game statistic sync and clicked on Sync to my collection (I see that it updates only games that have an ID in the DB, right?)

Now have I finished? From now on it is automatic?

When I add a new game...I have to update the DB clicking on Sync to my collection again?

    Thank you

  7. Anyway, guys, you are all great.

    I like how you work

I like how you speak each other

When I read I can understand not so much of technical, but I can catch the whole, and I like it ^_^

(ok, this is not beta related, sorry...Off-topic) ❤️

  8. Sorry my noobish

    But when you say:

    • Fixed: The Retro Achievements window was unable to fetch information due to changes with the RetroAchievements.org API

This means that the COULDNTFILEHASH  in xml file does not appear anymore?

Only thing that RAHasher does is takes a file and returns the hash ("identifier") of that file. This is the bit of data that emulators, LaunchBox, and other apps can send to the RetroAchievements server going "Do you know anything about this file?" and returns "Yeah, hash XYZ matches game ID 123 in our database, here's the cheevos info".

Any other functionality would be on LaunchBox's side, but I don't think what you're suggesting is feasible - How can LaunchBox populate a playlist with game entries that don't actually exist in your own database?

You'll be best off going through the platform lists on the RetroAchievements website and checking manually, like most of us do. But at least this new LB functionality gets us 95% of the way there instead of everything having to be fully manual!

    thank you again

    I hoped it ^_^

Still need to talk with various parties across GitHub projects as to where the fault lies and how it should be fixed properly, but I've put together a new version of RAHasher that now works properly with all CHD files. Download the attached file and replace the one located at "...\launchbox\ThirdParty\RetroAchievements\RAHasher.exe"

Resanned my PS2 CHD collection with a 99%+ success rate. I'm not sure if LB will force retry entries already marked as COULDNTFILEHASH on a rescan, or whether you'll need to remove those lines before the rescan?

    RAHasher_Fix.zip 106.46 kB · 6 downloads

I see that you are able to do magic ^_^

Do you think that it is possible to create a complete playlist using a modified RAHasher?

you launch the program and it makes a complete LB playlist for, example, Sega Dreamcast, so you can easily check what you miss.

Quick way I use to reset that data is the following:

    - Close LaunchBox

    - Open up the platform XML file in Notepad++

    - Ctrl+F to open search box, move to Mark tab, tick the 'bookmark lines' checkbox and search/mark lines with "COULDNTFILEHASH" - You'll see a blue bookmark circle next to all lines that matched

    - From the top bar, Search > Bookmarks... > Remove Bookmarked Lines

    - Save, open LaunchBox back up, rescan

Thank you very much for your reply!

And thank you for your clear instructions, I am a supernoob.

I have followed your steps and it works great.

LB has done a new complete scan on my Dreamcast platform. And now it has found new games that werent marked...

Thank you very much, this is a very helpful tip if you need a new scan

Great work! I can start to convert my rom in chd, then!

I have asked this in a post above but I have not received a reply.

I am quite sure that if you remove  a rom and re-import it, it 'll be scanned again...but

Something to keep in mind is that we use the official hashing program by RetroAchievements, found here: https://github.com/RetroAchievements/RALibretro/releases

Any time there's a new version of that program, we will be updating LaunchBox with it. It may be worth the effort to help them determine where they should be focusing their time.

I dont know how to help them

and I dont know how to help me with the dreamcast set (like reported)

I have followed the manual workaround for some titles, and it works, but I know that it is not the correct way.

So, what I have to do?

  14. 22 hours ago, retroNUC said:

Likely you're editing while LB is open, and your manual edits are getting stomped when it shuts down.

Close LB, add your hashes manually and save, open up LB, then rescan the platform for achievements. That's been working for me.

If I'll delete all the "COULDNTFILEHASH"

    LB will do an re-hash?

maybe it takes the right value this time.

Anyway I have tried and it works. But manually is a pain! 🤣

Good morning, I have a question about all my games that have allowed me to transfer them to CHD so that they take up less space, the achievements of some games do not show them to me, but when I enter the game it does, as is the case, for example, of Gran Turismo 4 from PCSX2 . How do I get it to show me correctly?
    All the best.
Note: Excuse my English but I do not have enough knowledge and I have used the Google translator.

I have read somewhere here that CHD cannot be hashed correctly atm by Retroachievements. We hope in a future patch.

Make sure the achievement badge is enabled because it sometimes gets disabled/hidden when importing and scanning roms. I've extracted all my DC games and imported only the .cue files and the platform is named "Sega Dreamcast" and about 98% of them are being detected as RA compatible.

    Thank you for your reply.

I had the same: cue files, Sega dreamcast and they were detected. But atm I dont know what is happening.

I dont think it is a LB general problem, I suppose it is MY LB problem.

I tried to change LB theme now, but nothing.

Usually reimporting should resolve all, but here...cant understand.

I am correct if I affirm "if I remove a rom and then I re-import it, the scan does his work", right?

  17. Hi all!
I have a problem with Sega Dreamcast Retroachievements.

I have a working rom set. RetroArch load correctly them. I have downloaded them from the "right" source.

LB is not showing me Retroachiev.

    I have:

removed and reimported - scanned- nothing

created a different platform - scanned - nothing ( I have "Sega Dreamcast" like platform, also created a simple "Dreamcast", scraped as Sega Dreamcast to try)

added in zip format - scanned - nothing

removed and added in cue-bin format - scanned - nothing

re-downloaded from the correct source a rom - scanned - nothing

I have, in a different category, a Dreamcast Subset platform. I have 3 games here and 2 of them were checked correctly and added to the playlist. I have added now the last one that I was missing (Power Stone 2 [Subset - Adventure 8 Difficulty]) and it does not show retroachiev.

A.t.m. my others platform were correctly hashed.

    any idea?

  18. Hi all!

Yes, I am not able to do it on my own...

C-Beats suggested me to ask if someone is able to help me...and obviously who need that.

At the moment LB make an hash check and mark the RA titles. When I have few titles is not a problem if I miss 1-2 games. But when we have to manage 500-800 games, if I miss 100 it become hard to check what I miss. It is also a pain to adjust it but this is another problem.

So, what I'd like to use is a program that is able to create a complete playlist for that platform/s and so I can check directly what I miss or what I have to  adjust (wrong Regional prioritizing for example)

    Anyone can help, please?
