yajinni
Topic kind of is the question lol Is retroarch portable like launchbox is? So can all its configuration be pointed to inside its self? It seems all its paths are absolute vs relative in its configuration files. I plan on using my setup on multiple machines and have it synced though dropbox so i dont want things being broken as a result.
Jason Carr
Hi @yajinni, yes, Retroarch can be configured to be portable, though it uses strange syntax for it. The configuration files use this syntax: :\assets Which means the assets folder inside of the Retroarch folder.

dmjohn0x
There is no "portable mode" then? I need to manually edit all of RA's config files?

As long as you downloaded the zip, then yes Retroarch is totally portable.
Suhrvivor
It's not 100% portable as it now. Shaders config files for instance use full paths for some reason but you can edit them and make them relative and they'll work. I guess that if you don't use shaders you can say that it's fully portable.
