Lordmonkus
I prefer Mame but Retroarch using the FBA core is a good option.
djwar
and stand alone emulators like NeoRage (X) ?
Lordmonkus
Old, outdated and not as good as Mame or FBA.

Thanos Reigns
Separate SNK Neo Geo folder is the way to go. Also use one of the Unibioses if you can...I have all my NG games set up as Japanese Arcade

Thanos Reigns
Here's my Neo Geo xml. You can use it to pull the roms from your mame folder. SNK Neo Geo.xml
Lordmonkus
There are full NeoGeo rom sets available on certain rom sites that aren't difficult to find. That's of course if you don't want to pull roms out manually.
Thanos Reigns
Yeah, I was going to mention a certain paradise, but I figure we arent allowed to mention sites like that.

Drunkflower
He or she, could use lightspeed program to copy or move the files to a new folder. It is the easiest and quickest option Spoiler None of the ideas expressed above are actually mine. They are told to me by Luthor and Ferdinand, the five inch tall space aliens who live under my desk. In return for these ideas, I have given them permission to eat any dust bunnies they may find under there.

Thanos Reigns
If you have a system named SNK Neo Geo in launchbox...just plop that xml in its folder under Database. If you're using Rocketlauncher, like me, i also put it in RL's database folder.
djwar
I do not have a database folder inside launchbox folder, or you mean in my emulator folder. And how the the roms are going to be moved ? Edited September 17, 2016 by djwar
Thanos Reigns
There will only be that Database folder if you are using rocketlauncher, which i suggest you use personally, if you want fade screens with info and bezels for everything, not just what retroarch supports. As for the roms...you have to actually move them yourself as far as I know, i could be wrong.

I was looking for ideas on the easiest way to separate the neo geo roms out of my mame rom set. And, no, I do not have rocketlauncher sir

Lordmonkus
Unfortunately there is no easy way unless you can find a bat file already made to copy them out to a new folder. The easiest solution barring really shitty internet is to re-download a NeoGeo only rom set. The rom set has not changed for the newer versions of Mame or the rom set for that version.
