luger81
Thank you so much @timekills!! It works perfectly now. Now I don't have to use SSF or RocketLauncher or anything else, just RA.
luger81
A lot of the .cue sheets load as music files. Is there a way to fix this, @timekills ?
Lordmonkus
Do you have wav or mp3 files as part of your disk image ?
luger81
AIF apparently
Lordmonkus
You want cue + bin only. I have fixed up some games that came with mp3 or wav files though. For wav files just mount the cue sheet with Daemon Tools and then use ImgBurn to generate a new cue + bin from that. Games with mp3 files you have to convert the mp3s to wav files and modify the cue sheets references of mp3 to wav and wave. I did a video on fixing those. Not sure about aif format and if they would need to be converted first or not before mounting and regenerating a new cue + bin.
luger81
What I meant was that I have .bin+.cue files only. The audio files in the image are AIF.
Lordmonkus
Ahh, so there are no external audio files from the cue + bin ?
luger81
No
Lordmonkus
Can you explain how they are loading as music files then ?
luger81
I load up the .cue file in Retroarch (using Mednafen Sega Saturn) and it loads the emulator and goes to a CD Player type screen instead of loading the game. Lordmonkus
PSX ?? Are you using Retroarch or stand alone Mednafen ? If you are using Retroarch you need the Mednafen Saturn core.
luger81
Retroarch. I never got stand alone Mednafen to work. Yes, I realize that and I have that as well. That's what I'm using to load the SS emulator through RA.
Lordmonkus
Ok it's just that you mentioned PSX so I thought maybe you were using the Mednafen PSX core. If you are getting the cd screen then there are 2 possibilities. Is it a PAL region game ? PAL games do not work yet for now, they can be fixed with the region patcher tool but it isn't 100%. The other possibility is your disk image may be a bad dump and has errors and may be fixable using CDMage. I use the version of CDMage on Emuparadise. Load the cue sheet into CDMage then click Action and Scan For Corruption, then Action > Repair Corrupted Sectors. Once that is done go to File > Save as and save out a new cue + bin. luger81
I'll try that and will let you know if it works. Thanks.
luger81
All of the images that I have on my PC are NTSC\(U). None are PAL. I just tried scanning Albert Odyssey (U) with CDMage and it said there were no errors.
luger81
When I load it in RA with Mednafen Saturn core, it comes up with "uncorrectable data at sector 0".
Lordmonkus
Something else that just came to mind because you mention Albert Odyssey, what is the exact file name ? The reason I ask this is because Zombeaver was having problems with his until he renamed it. The copy he had was a really long weird file name and after he shortened it to a shorter simpler name it worked. It seems that Mednafen doesn't like long weird names in it's files. Try changing the name of the cue + bin and don't forget to edit the cue sheet to match the bin name.
luger81
Albert Odyssey (U) .bin
Lordmonkus
Try repairing it and saving it out as a new cue + bin even though it says no errors. I can guarantee you that Albert Odyssey is a game that works. I have it working and so does Zombeaver. Do any other games work ?
luger81
Tried renaming and renaming in the .cue file. No go. Still loads as a CD but I can't play the music.
