rachel_06
I was following the tutorial found here but when I went to try open Super Mario World it just cycled through a bunch of background images. What did I do wrong?

fromlostdays
Nestopia is an NES emulator, for starters. Use SNES9x or BSNES.
rachel_06
welp, i feel dumb now. thank you! also i'm using retroarch if that makes a difference Edited November 14, 2016 by rachel_06
fromlostdays
It happens haha. Both Snes9x and Bsnes have (multiple) cores in RetroArch. Snes9x is easier as some of the Bsnes cores require special roms. You should be able to point RA to your Snes9x core and then to your rom and start playing. Lordmonkus
The BSnes-Mercury cores do not require the special chip rom dumps, you have the core option to HLE emulate these chips. You can use these chip dumps if you choose to though. http://wiki.libretro.com/index.php?title=Bsnes-mercury BSnes will give you higher accuracy and the ability to play MSU-1 patched roms.
