Lordmonkus
ePSXe runs better on lower end hardware which is why I use it on my HTPC. But emulation quality is pretty much equal, they are both about 90% accurate on the tests so that's a wash. The HW core is pretty much the same as the normal core (maybe not quite as developed or a couple of bugs) but it uses the GPU for internal resolution scaling. You can upscale to higher internal resolutions without hitting system performance so hard. I don't use the fps limiter in ePSXe at all and haven't run into issues with it. I also do not use Petes OpenGL plugin on my HTPC. Is the display you are running on a 60 Hz and have you enabled v-sync. Though I do not see a v-sync option in Petes plugin but there is one in the ePSXe GPU Core plugin which is what I use on the HTPC. Here's my settings for Petes OpenGL. djwar
I took the recommendation on that website and downloaded the old 2.0v epsxe, that one works fine on default settings . game is running at 60 fps Actually Mr monkus I never had any problem with my psx games, I got parasite eve 2 days ago, and this is the one that was giving me issues... Lordmonkus
I don't have that game and of course there is always the possibility that game could be problematic, no idea if it is or not though.
djwar
I cant believe what just happened here !!!!! I have my psx folder > 2.0.5V, then I created here a new folder to throw 2.0.5 in there and test 2.0 old version instead so I was checking old version right, then after I while tI went to the new folder I created and by mistake I clicked on the 2.0.5V .... And can you believe that is running perfect in the new location at 60 fps..... I moved the ... files to a new location and the game is working fine at normal speed....thats not possible Edited December 1, 2016 by djwar
Lordmonkus
Weird, maybe it generated a new cfg file and fixed itself.

Lordmonkus
I don't know if it generates a default one but you can have individual ones for each game and those go in the config folder.
djwar
I found it here, just in case you need it in the future HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\epsxe\config
Lordmonkus
Ugh, registry entries for a simple config is awful

SentaiBrad
Well I am glad it's fixed. Also, I use the Mednafen PS1 core in RetroArch usually. The HW core is actually broken from the last I remember, it's their Vulkan Renderer along with the N64 core. They're coming along nicely, but are still off and not really fully there. But if you import both disks Launchbox should detect that it's 2 disks of the same game and it will import as a single entry and then when you right click the game you will have to option of which disk to load. I think you will also get that option in BigBox mode but I have not tried it out. Does it work for every system ? Im trying that with some 3Do 2-disc game but LB is adding the second disc as additional game
SentaiBrad
Yes, LaunchBox will import games and combine multi disc games given the right words are in the rom file. (Disc 1), (Disc 2) or (Disc 3), (Disc 1 of 4), (Disc 2 of 4), (Disk 1), (Disk 2), etc. All of those would combine if the rest of the name would be the same. djwar
@SentaiBrad this is the game .. does the name should be change?
SentaiBrad
Yea, that's not the correct naming scheme. I'm surprised you can even find any metadata with that. This is why we suggest No-Intro, TOSEC and other sets like that (not Good Sets), because the names are usually correct. That should be Night Trap (Disc 1) and Night Trap (Disc 2), then it will import and combine just fine.
DOS76
Yeah see how there is no spaces LB doesn't see the disk because that is just one long name.
