angelobodetti Posted December 26, 2016 Share Posted December 26, 2016 Hi All, Hoping I can get some help emulating Atari 5200. I followed Brad's video exactly but MESS will crash on startup. It works with other systems. Any idea? I have the 5200.zip (and 5200.rom) bios in multiple folders to cover my bases but still no luck. Any help is appreciated! SentaiBrad Posted December 27, 2016 Share Posted December 27, 2016 If you grabbed a MAME Rom pack from at least .174 onwards (.180 suggested), the command line is set properly, and if the name of your platform in LaunchBox is Atari 5200 and the name of your platform line in the associated platforms tab is Atari 5200 (they must match), then you should be good. You can use MAME or MESS .180 (MESS is not built by the MAME team anymore and is fully integrated, but I prefer the standalone MESS). If you use regular MAME, as long as your set is in the roms folder, you're fine. If standalone MESS, then it just needs to know where your MAME Rom set is.
