Updated to 7.7-beta-6, now unable to change features in BigBox

Hi all, just updated to the recent Beta version, however I am now unable to change features in BigBox, i.e Games list view and Platforms list view. You can change the type of view in the menu, however the actual view does not change.

It is stuck on 'Fullscreen Coverflow' and 'Platform Wheel 1'

Any suggestions?

Hi @Wayne100, this is because we added a feature to remember views separately for each platform. I can see how it can be confusing though. You'll need to bind a key or a button to "Switch View" in the Big Box options, and then you can use that key or button to switch the view individually for each platform.

Hi Jason, thanks for the reply -  I am fairly new to this, so am pretty much learning as I go along!

How do I 'bind a key' or button to switch view, is it fairly straightforward?

So, question is guys, how do we make this less confusing so that we don't have 100 people reporting this same issue once we put the official release out?

You could make the change log more understandable so other people don't get confused or something like that LOL. You can also have this feature or new feature that has an option in the settings turned off by default for less confusion.

Maybe have a new pop up on install of the stable release with even a YouTube video.

I used to look at the changelog from the help menu after each beta to see what changed but that was never accurate or updated and I come here to find Jason post of what happened.

The change log is accurate for official releases, but changes between betas are not reflected there. @ea4492 That's a good point; we should probably just turn it off by default. At least then people will have to look for it to discover it. That's probably what we'll do.

A FAQ? A big manual on the site? Just to look for a fast answer for frequently recursing question. And I think SentaiBrad will do an awesome job on a little PDF other than videos? Just my 2 cents...
