Wayne100 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Hi all, I have now upgraded from my old i3, and built myself a powerful i5 that allows BigBox to flow perfectly - I have slowly plodded away installing various platforms on LaunchBox. without any major problems. Until now! I can not seem to get CPS 3 running - I have set it up the same way as CPS 1 and CPS 2, but using the FDalpha core, or FDAlpha_2012. The ROMs wil not load, either through LaunchBox, or Retroarch. I am 90% it is something to do with the CHDs, however I have tried no CD versions, and they will not work either. My ROMs are from EMU paradise, and they match the CHDs. FIrst question, just to confirm, what am I meant to be doing with the CHDs? ie, renaming, location etc. As usual, any help much appreciated! DOS76 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 CHD's just go in the folder with the roms in a folder named after the rom Quote
Lordmonkus Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 CPS3 games work fine for me using Retroarch and the FBAlpha core and I don't use CHDs at all. Quote
Wayne100 Posted March 1, 2017 Author Posted March 1, 2017 Thanks for the replies - that's how I have been putting my CHDs, just wondered in case they where meant to go anywhere else. Is there any specific BIOS required? Is there anything different that I need to tick etc during the import ROM process? Lordmonkus, where they NO CD ROMS? Quote
Wayne100 Posted March 1, 2017 Author Posted March 1, 2017 Wish mine did . Guess I will start from scratch again, I must be doing something stupid! Just out of interest, are your ROMs from a MAME set, if so, do you know what version? Quote
Wayne100 Posted March 1, 2017 Author Posted March 1, 2017 Hmmm, I have been trying to use the sets that have come from MAME. Quote
Wayne100 Posted March 2, 2017 Author Posted March 2, 2017 Thanks for your help, I was trying to use MAME ROMs. Doh. Quote
FRK Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 I too have been having trouble with RA and CPS3, using the FBA set ( and others ) and they run with FB but not through RA.. any suggestions ? Thanks FRK Quote
Lordmonkus Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Try both FBA cores, the one with the year 2012 in its name and the one without. The one that will work best will depend on the rom set you are using. Quote
Colorman3605 Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 I have performed all the instructions found on the forums and videos on these, but nothing happens. The emulator is configured (retroarch with -L "cores \ fbalpha_libretro.dll" and core updated) and the rom (.zip) I have taken from Pleasuredome. even with the only retrarch something happens, I only get the scanned failed to load content. As I said, I followed all the instructions I found. What can it be? Thank you! Quote
Lordmonkus Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Are your roms from the FBA set or Mame set ? Do they load or not load in Retroarch on its own outside of Launchbox ? Quote
Colorman3605 Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 I can't load them witn Retroarch and retroarch in launchbox. Quote
Lordmonkus Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Well if you can't load them in RA on its own then you have a compatibility issue with the roms and the core. Quote
Colorman3605 Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) Is there a particular set that I should try or recommend me to try? Edited May 9, 2018 by Colorman3605 Quote
Lordmonkus Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 It is weird though that your FBA set won't work with the FBA core, try the FBA2012 core and see if that works for you. I know there was a recent new FBA rom set so I don't know if that is causing problems with the FBA core or not. Honestly my suggestion would be to use the Mame set and Mame unless for some reason you need to use FBA Launchbox can break out the Capcom CPS playlists for you or you can create your own. Quote
Colorman3605 Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Just tried a rom with the set mame (not Merged) from PD and the retroarch alone works. Tomorrow I'll try the remaining sets and I'll let you know. Quote
