latin625 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Hi! I have MAME 182 running and can not seem to keep any of my high scores, how do you accomplish this? It erases the high score when I restart the machine. Thanks! Before I used to "save state" on older versions of mame to cheat and keep the hiscore in place. Quote
neil9000 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I'm sorry I cant really help you here I also use the save state method, if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. Quote
latin625 Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 I hear ya. Any chance you now how to add scanlines on 182? Quote
neil9000 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Depends on what version of mame you are using, I am using MAMEUI 64bit and can add that through the desktop ui. Quote
latin625 Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 I am using .182 mame64.exe, can I do it with that one? Quote
neil9000 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I mean probably yes, but I don't know that program so I cant really help you unfortunately, but its probably in the options somewhere. Here is how easy it is in mameui, bottom left of the small window, choose effect. Quote
latin625 Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 (edited) thanks, but my MAMEUI is very funny acting and cant event get it to go full screen when I double click on it. I keep trying with MAME64 instead. Edited April 14, 2017 by latin625 Quote
Sithel Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I enabled HI Score doing this. Open up your MameUI and go to Options > Default Game Options > Miscellaneous II Then you'll see this picture below. Check "Enable internal LUA Plugins" Select Plugin > hiscore Folder structure you should have a folder called hi and dats, in the dats folder should be your hiscore.dat file. In the hi folder is where the hi scores will save on a per game basis. For some games to save you may need to clear your nvram folder. Below is folder structure When a rom saves the hi score the files in the hi folder will be like this below. Good luck! 1 Quote

neil9000 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Also I don't have a mame64.exe look, this is a version of mame called mameui. Quote
latin625 Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 Ok, just in case anyone wants to know. F11 gets you out of fullscreen in MAME Quote
latin625 Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 Man, couldnt get it running. Found a old version of MAME 1.7 and it is golden! Some sweet scanlines and event artwork for small screens to get rid of the black space. Using Save state on the MAME as well. Thanks guys, But I had to go with the easy way. 1 Quote
neil9000 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 That's cool, whatever works for you is always the best solution. Even if you have a later mame rom set 99% of them should still work, so good gaming. 1 Quote
DOS76 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 All of the settings you were looking for are in the MAME.ini file you Just have to change those values. 1 Quote
DOS76 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Well for scanlines you can also look at the BGFX settings as they are pretty nice also and I believe work properly regardless of the games screen orientation which if I recall correctly HLSL has issues with. 1 Quote
Webbo1979 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I’m not sure how the hi score support system works but is it possible to add new games to the supported list? I had an old version of mame that had hi scores built in and would remember scores on football champ this new version doesn’t seem to do the same. Quote
Lordmonkus Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 In your plugin.ini file enable the hiscore. hiscore 1 As for adding games I don't think that is possible, it's something that is built into Mame and depends on the game. Quote
