Hi

just watched Eta Primes video on running Launchbox from ext drive

transferred my Launchbox folder 70gb

but my Emulators run from a seperate folder

so it dont work

if i transfer the emulator folder to the ext drive will it then work ?

does Launchbox default emulators to same drive as its own folder ?

Am i  strange to run emus from outside launchbox folder ?

It might, but you also may have to adjust the emulator locations with Launchbox. But then if you take the external drive to another PC it should be fine.

Not sure if it defaults to it.

I don't think so, my emulators and roms are all stored outside of my Launchbox folder.

You can have things wherever you want. If you move things around after configuring LB, then you can fix all the paths to things that broke by editing the .xml files in your Data folder using mass edits with something like Notepad++

i think it's pretty safe to move what you need to and we can help fix paths.

if you move your LB folder to a diff drive than roms and emulators, it's likely you need to fix the paths to the emulators and roms.

if you move all three to a different drive, keeping all the paths exactly the same as they were on the first drive, just having a drive letter that is different, it's likely everything will  just work without any changes.

make a copy of your Data folder before you start changing xml files.
