justgotloud Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Everything seems to be running great with my big box arcade cabinet setup except 1 game, Toobin. The original arcade game is 5 buttons (paddle left forward/back, paddle right forward/back, and fire in the middle). It is also a 2 player game. This is fine for me as I built the cabinet with 8 buttons for each player. The problem is in Toobin with MAME emulator, player 2 doesn't exist on the controls. Player 1 is assigned to both joystick and buttons so it is very awkward for gameplay. How can I re-map the controller inputs for this one game without affecting all the others that work great?
Retro808 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 If you open Toobin in Mame and hit Tab it will open the settings for Mame then choose Input - This Machine (or it may say something similar) and that will allow you to set for only that game and not alter the general settings for controls of Mame.
neil9000 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Hi and welcome to the community. You will need a keyboard attached to do this. Load the game then press TAB on the keyboard which will open the mame menu and go to Input (this machine) and set your controls in there.
neil9000 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Ha ha, your post wasn't there when I hit post, so it was close.
justgotloud Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 Thanks. Will try this when I get home. Both you ninjas are awesome. 1 1

That worked great! Thanks. How do I do the same for Nintendo 64 games. All games work great except Yoshi's Story. Keeps asking for controller 1.
Retro808 Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 I cannot help with that. I use Retroarch for the few N64 games I play. Hopefully one of the mods will chime in and help. In the meantime I will set up Project64 and see if I have any issues with Yoshi.
neil9000 Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 I am also using Retroarch for N64, I have never personally used Project64. It does seem strange that controls for the other N64 games work OK and that specific game doesn't, they should be the same across the board.
