CuddlyColin
Hey all, I'm having a similar problem as in this thread: When I launch games with -slowboot, I get the first sony orange logo, then the playstation logo screen looks like this:If I get rid of -slowboot from the parameters, no logo screens show up, but it just sits on a black screen forever. I even followed his solution, moving all the images into the epsxe/isos/ folder, and that's worked for some, but there are still a decent amount that just will not open when launched from launchbox, but when I launch the image directly with ePSXe work totally fine. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Or is there any information I could provide to get some help? Thanks so much!
ckp
show screenshots of how you have epsxe setup in LB emulators and show screenshots of one of the games not working by right click edit, and include the first tab and emulator tab for the game. ckp
So, are those rom files actually in that location with the same exact paths as shown in your screenshots? What type of rom files are they (zip, iso, etc)?
CuddlyColin
Yup, they're exactly where they're listed, I even re-selected them through the browse menu in edit. They're .bin and .cue files, loading the .bins, but I've also tried with the .cue and get the same results
ckp
hmm, i use the same exact epsxe settings in LB and import cue files to LB and mine work. tried rampage 2 also no problems. Edited December 17, 2017 by ckp
CuddlyColin
It's weird, huh? I am running on Windows 10 if that makes a difference? The weirdest thing for me is how it works fine in ePSXe and not launching from launchbox. I've tried changing launch parameters, but nothing seems to work for some games... ckp
I don't know. Check to make sure you have all necessary bios files and have installed all microsoft visual c++ runtimes for 32bit and 64bit. I use Win 10 and all is well.
Lordmonkus
Yeah that error is a missing VC++ runtime. Another option for emulator to use is Mednafen itself which is very good but a little more pain in the ass to setup due to no GUI.
CuddlyColin
Alright, so I found the root of my issue, the .cue files were pointing to incorrectly named .bin files. ePSXe launching them for some reason handled it fine, but launching them through launchbox didn't. After fixing the .cue files in notepad, the games ran fine.
Lordmonkus
Good to hear you got it sorted. And for anyone coming across this thread with a similar issue the cue file should be in the same folder as the bin file and just have the exact file name as the bin. For example my Harmful Park cue contains this: FILE "Harmful Park (Japan).bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE2/2352 FLAGS DCP INDEX 01 00:00:00 TRACK 02 AUDIO FLAGS DCP PREGAP 00:02:00 INDEX 01 50:53:45 Occasionally the first line has a folder path or something else. Cramhead
reimported my pbp files and seems fine now
Lordmonkus
Yeah, PBP files are much simpler but there is a smal selection of games that won't work as PBPs. It is a very small selection though from what I have read.
Scoobydrew007
I was having trouble with ePsxe working as well. The game wouldn't boot up after the PlayStation logo appeared. In my roms directory i had roms with a .cue file and the zipped file with all the game data named something else. I added .bin to the zipped file and it worked. Don't understand it but tried it and hey presto although two images of the same game appeared in launchbox. Just deleted the one that wasn't the .bin and result. Emulation is all new to me so forgive me for my lack of knowledge lol. ?

You should only import the .cue into launchbox that is why you had 2 of everything, as they are different file extensions Launchbox thinks they are different games, all Launchbox needs is the .cue as that has the details for the associated .bin file in it. Thanks for that. Thinking about it that makes sense. All done and working great. Now to import some GameCube stuff. Love this launchbox.
