Play video while game is loading

Hi,

Is it possible to play a short video while a game is loading?

I know about RocketLauncher, but it doesn't currently work with SSFLoader, only SSF.

I'm sure you could do it with the Additional Apps tool but it would just end up slowing the loading of your game you actually want to play.

Would have to be a real short video, like half a second?

SSFLoader launches a small window that looks really stupid. It probably takes about 5 seconds before it goes away and starts up the game. I'm trying to get around the ugly transition.

I'd use Mednafen through Retroarch, but my computer isn't nearly fast enough to use that emulator.

Just in case you're not aware, they're both Sega Saturn emulators.

Like I said you could probably do it with the Additional Apps tool but that would have to be done on a per game basis for now until Jason adds the bulk edit option to it. Another possible option would be an AHK script but I am not proficient enough with that to give you a good example of how to do it.

That's what a fade option is in rocketlauncher, but it's only with animated images at best.  Maybe someday that could be an option built in to launchbox so that it could cover up the emulator while it loads underneath whatever's being shown on top of it. Helps to give the seamless effect.

The OP mentioned RocketLauncher and said it doesn't work with SSFLoader.

But yeah it would be nice to have this feature built into Launchbox for those people wanting it.
