shady8knight
Hi guys, it will be certainly easy but i'm crashing the head on the floor. Does anyone knows how to remove the written "Emulation started" and the blue box with the clock when i load a rom with Project64? I couldn't find an option for that. Thank you :-)
Lordmonkus
I don't recall ever seeing that with PJ64 but then again it's been a very long time since I really used it so I don't know if any of these settings affect it or not.

ckp
Mine start that way with p64, but it never really bothered me because it goes away once the game starts going. But I don't use p64 anymore anyway.
ckp
A quick google on it turns this up: To remove the "Emulation Started" that pops up, go to the folder where you installed Project 64. Inside the "Lang" folder right click the "English.pj" file and open it in notepad. (Unless you're using a different language). Towards the bottom of the text, change the line that says: "Emulation Started" to " " and save it. If you still get a blue box with the time when you load a rom, switch the graphics plugin to Glide64 so you can uncheck the option to show the time under Configure Graphics Plugin. I did this and switched back to Jabo's plugin. The time and blue box stayed gone even though Jabo's configuration didn't have an option for it. Figured I'd post this in case anyone was googling the heck out of this like me

If i remove the written inside the quotes and save the file you can't select anymore that language in the p64 language menù, it disappears. Treid even whit the time options for the other plugin but they were unchecked yet..... thanks however for the answer.
ckp
Yeah, I tried it and it worked for me to remove the emulation starting text but nothing worked to remove the status bar with clock. Maybe that worked in an older version.
ckp
Why not just use a better emulator like mupen64plus? Edited April 23, 2018 by ckp

Lordmonkus
https://m64p.github.io/ Give that one a try, it's really nice and easy to use out of the box.
JamesBond@ge
LordMonkus, I'm being a little lazy here but do you know the command line for Mupen64 please? I was a PJ64 devotee but I just tried Mupen64 on a whim at your's and CKP suggestion and it looks good. It runs Rogue Squadron nicely. Lordmonkus
You don't need any command line parameters at all for it, just set it up and go. If it doesn't load fullscreen at first just change it to fullscreen with Alt + Enter and close it, the next time you open it it will be fullscreen.
JamesBond@ge
Thanks LM. The graphics look a lot better with this Mupen Emulator. I guess that is down to the Glide plugin.
Lordmonkus
Well M64p and PJ64 can both look just as good and use the same plugins, M64p just does it out the box and is more user friendly.
shady8knight
i'm really going out of mind.... p64 works better for arcade stick config and some game but with one video plugin for some and the other one for others, m64p works better with other games. star wars rogue squadron doesn't run good with any configuration i tried in both the emulators. i have the cabinet almost ready, the last console to set up is just n64, really don't know how get out of this problem to make all n64 game works fine on my cabinet...... any suggestion guys? Lordmonkus
This is just an unfortunate problem with N64 emulation as it currently stands, neither of the emulators available right now are perfect and each have their own flaws.
shady8knight
thanks for the answer, i feel just a little better, it means it's not my fault.... :-) i will probably do multiple emulators configurations for every selection of games that works the same way Edited April 26, 2018 by shady8knight
JamesBond@ge
I used to have multiple emulators running N64 games. I used the Parallel core in RetroArch, PJ64 1.6 and PJ64 2.3 and a little bit of 1964. After trying Mupen and testing it extensively, I found it ran everything I chucked at it including Stunt Racer 64 which I have never been able to get any other emulator to run. Never played it before until I tried Mupen. Mickey Mouse Racing wouldn't open in RetroArch but Mupen runs it. Rogue Squadron runs fine in Mupen as well on my i5-2500k. I'm a big fan now. You probably didn't notice Edited April 29, 2018 by JamesBond@ge
