Managing different builds

Hi. I am about to set up launchbox and big box and a laptop and a GPD Win 2 handheld. Both are standard windows 10 operating systems. I will set up launchbox on the laptop and then copy it to the handheld and I imagine that will be fine assuming I double check emulator locations etc.

I am not sure if it is possible to maintain both build easily though. For example if I add a new platform, or update a theme or add new games to the laptop do I have to go through the same process again with the handheld?

what is the best way to keep the two builds exactly the same in terms of platforms, games and themes? They will have different controller setups which makes things a little awkward. I can't just copy and paste I guess.

Does anybody have any advice or even understand what I am asking!!

Thanks. That was my fear. Especially since I intend to spend the next month or so setting things up on the laptop but I wanted to move things across to the handheld after each time I tinker. I don't want to have to copy the whole build across each time but maybe I have no choice. Either that or repeat the what I do on the laptop on the handheld each time.

Thank you so much for both bits of advice. Much appreciated. I've never heard of RoboCopy but will check it out. The problem with syncing is that I think I would need to be careful not to sync anything that related to controller configurations or emulator settings as they would be different. That is why I wondered if there were specific folders that only related to games (I think there is and it's unsurprisingly called games!) and media (again i think there is) but I'm not sure if it's that simple.

Generally you would need the platform name.xml from Launchbox/Data folder and the platform name folders from Images and videos, and the emulator and games folder as well of course.

That sounds like it's not too bad. I think I'll have a play over the weekend. Thanks.

I think you would also need to do the master platform.xml and also now the parent.xml would have to be in sync also. Probably the whole data folder.
