FakedPotato
-Id like to apologize in advance. this is a retro arch question. I have found that this forum is much friendlier and knowledgeable and would greatly appreciate your help with this issue- I bought a XB1 Controller today wanting to have a wireless controller for my emulation. When I bluetooth my controller directly to my PC everything is fine and retroarch works, i can navigate the menus and play the games. Problem is i have to be within 6 inchs of my desktop for there to be zero lag, outside of that its awful. I bought the xb1 wireless adapter from gamestop for 25 bucks thinking I could go farther out with my controller in my room, and so far i can with other emulators/PC games.. but retroarch doesnt work with my controller when that adapter is plugged in and paired to my controller that way. Retroarch DOES recognize the controller ( yellow text bottom left saying XB1 controller hooked up to PORT 0) but the buttons dont work, and when i go into retroarch i cannot navigate the menus. Id really appreciate your help, this is a little frustrating :(
DOS76
sounds like when its in that pairing mode it isn't recognized automatically so you will probably have to use a keyboard to manually get to the input section and set the buttons manually. You want to set it in settings input input player one binds (or the closest similar menu item as I didn't open the program for the exact wording)
neil9000
Just because Retroarch recognises the controller on launch doesnt mean that that is what it is actually using, it just means it knows it is connected. Like @DOS76 said you need to go to settings/input/user 1 binds and make sure that controller is actually selected there for use. I use a XBOX ONE controller with the official Microsoft wireless adapter and it works perfectly in Retroarch.
JoeViking245
I have an XBox 360 controller and the official Microsoft wireless adapter and it works without a hitch. (If it helps any...) under Settings/Input/Input User 1 Blinds it looks like this: I don't think I had to do any other configuring.
