Big Box 9.5 halts/crashes after exiting game

Hi there,

this issue has been raised before but has yet to be answered/solved so far as I could see. I went through the forum and doesn't seem to be much input from technical staff so not sure if this will fall on deaf ears. Anyways new to Bixbox but the program is crashing after exiting games regardless of the platform. These games work fine within Launchbox and their standalone emulators. Some people have this issue and others not. Any clues as to which way to go? I don't mind rolling back to an earlier version of Bigbox but can't find it on the download page.

TIA

Swiddzy

I don't know what version was your first version of Launchbox or how many updates you have done but you can check in your \Launchbox\Updates folder for previous updates which you can use to reinstall an older version with. Just be mindful of the install folder when you do it, you don't want to be installing to \Launchbox\Launchbox.

I will tag @Jason Carr in hopes he might have an answer for you.

There is only one staff, and thats the dev himself. Can you pull a log of this happening? Just go to Tools/Options/Debugging and turn it on, then use it the way you have been where you get the crash and post the log from Launchbox/Logs.

Thanks.

@Swiddzy If you're experiencing issues with starting and stopping games, most likely it's related to the startup screens. The first thing to try is disabling the startup screens. Let me know if that fixes it for you, and if you provide me with details on what emulator you're using, I can troubleshoot it further. As far as I am aware, all issues related to this that have come up in the past have been resolved. If you know of another topic where it has not, please link me and I'll follow up.
