launchbox 9.8, black screen when resuming MAME from pause screen

Pause screens load up fine but when I go to resume, I get a black screen, I can hear the game running though. I am using MAME .209 on a windows 10 machine.

I know there have been some recent posts on focus loss like this with mame. It has been working well for a lot of users. Are you using the standard command line mame or one of the offshoots like MameUI or Arcade64?

I am experiencing the same issue, GroovyMAME 201 on Windows 7.

Just tested here using GroovyMame on Windows 10 and no issues at all with pausing, working as intended.

Both Launchbox and BigBox modes.

Yeah I've been messing around with it all day and give up.

I'm using GroovyMame. I didn't change anything but tonight when I tried the pause feature the screen was not black but MAME came back windowed.

I've had that occur too, it seems random. I also tested regular MAME 201 and experienced the same issue. The pause screen works fine with RetroArch, Redream etc.
