starfiretbt
My Nephew has a cousin who comes over on holidays and often plays games on my computer so I downloaded M.A.M.E. and a rom set of thousands of games for that emulator. Unfortunately some of the pinball games have inappropriate box art. I don't want to remove the box art but I don't want it to be visible when a 7 year old boy starts scrolling through my launch-box playlist. Is there a way to set the displayed art to something else such as the clear logo? EDIT: Also it might be nice to be able to label a game as inappropriate and when a little kid starts messing around hide all games labeled as such through some kind of parent control option. That way I don't have to delete them in case I may enjoy them. Edited July 27, 2019 by starfiretbt
darreldearth
You might be able to sort the systems games by genre and then just highlight all the "Adult" games and click edit and then click hide. Then later just un-hide them.

We dont actually allow images that would be considered "Adult" in our database, so its likely these images came from Emumovies or wikipedia. Adult games can be filtered out completely at import for MAME also in Launchbox. Your best bet would be to delete all the art for those games and scrape images from our database only. What games in particular are you concerned by the boxart for, and ill check that they are not in fact coming from our database?
starfiretbt
The "adult" games that came with my ROM set that I have found so far include "gals pinball" and "hot pinball." I don't want to delete the box art because I like games to have box art in Launch-Box and I don't want to delete the game because it might be fun, I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I was just hoping there was a way to label a game in a manner that allows for me to hide the games if I'm allowing children in my family to play games on my computer. What if there are more games that are actually very entertaining? I don't want to delete those games.
sundogak
@starfiretbtI made a playlist for arcade games and have it filter for any MAME genre that contains the word "mature" and it will pick them up if you use the MAME importer since the genres are pulled in. You can then select all and hide those games so don't have to delete. In BigBox it will not show a playlist if all the games are hidden. If set a PIN in BB then they cannot unhide and cannot exit (normally). The limitation is that you cannot hide a playlist in LB (was a feature I was hoping would get higher on the poll but didn't make the cut). So the playlist will still show if rooting around in in LB side and obviously the files themselves along with art are still on the drive. So it isn't high security but does keep from stumbling across when in BB. The only other alternative is to duplicate your LB and keep a kid friendly import version and then master. starfiretbt
That worked, I see the hide feature in EDIT as well as the "show hidden games" for myself. Thank you, that worked, this post is solved.
