Well still having issues :( I did try to run this on my main gaming rig with a GTX 1080ti video card and same issue as my HP Prodesk in my 1up.  I'm running Win 10 on both are there any known issues with that running on 10? what about Direct X versions?

What exactly happens? When you try and run a game directly in the emulator does it crash, go to black screen, or nothing?

When I load a rom, its crashes instantly and gives me the "emulator2.exe has stopped working" window and my only option then is to close program and restart it.

I had a similar issue on another cabinet. It is a Windows 10 pc. I stumbled across a thread (I think it was on arcade controls forum) that mentioned making sure a couple older C++  and DirectX versions were installed. On that pc I added those two and the crashes stopped. I will try to find that thread also where I found the tip. The last couple cabinets I built Model 2 worked fine without me having to do this. So, not sure if this will help you or not, but worth a look.

I think I came across that thread as well, while googling, I do recall seeing something about direct x. I will give those links a try later and see if it works. Thanks for your help.

Have the same problem since I upgraded my cabinet pc  (gpu is still the same). I'm using win7 pro (instead of xp on my old build), updated all drivers, installed all necessary directx files, removed and reinstalled everything to be sure...and still crash on launch.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm having a similar problem with my model 2 emulator. I just reinstalled Windows because of a technical issue (unrelated) and the emulator was running fine before. Now whenever I try to load a ROM it tells me files are missing. Everything was stored on a micro SD card separate to the HD, so shouldn't have been affected by the reinstall. I tried re-downloading everything, but still the same problem. Can anyone suggest a fix?

Hi there. I'm having a similar issue. Model 2 emulator was working fine until I had to reinstall windows because of an unrelated issue. Now suddenly I'm getting this for each ROM when I try to open them.

I checked to see if I have the latest version of Direct X and apparently it's up to date (Ver 12). Does anyone know what might be the issue?

The Model 2 Emulator hasn't been updated in a long time. It works for me but lots of people have problems with it.

Make sure that in emulator.ini (in the emulator folder) the path to your games folder is still correct.

The Model 2 Emulator uses dx9. Sure an up-to-date install of your video drivers does include dx9, but you can try old installs of dx9 specifically. I have heard of people having succes with putting d3d9.dll in the emulator folder, but I never needed that.

Hi, were you able to fix this? I'm having the same problem. Thank you.

- In emulator.ini in the m2emulator folder and under [RomDirs], have you set the path to your Model 2 roms folder?

- M2emulator hasn't been updated for over ten years and expects roms from that time. Some roms from newer / more recent Mame romsets do not work. Either make sure your Model 2 roms are at least 10 years old or google / download the missing files and add them to the game 's zip file and re-zip.

- In LaunchBox > Tools > Manage > Emulators > m2emulator, make sure you have the following settings:

583047846_Schermopname(93).thumb.jpg.c462fc206eaeb2b0e3b5e3c15e0f8c8e.jpg

Note: make sure "Extract ROM Archives Before Running" is unchecked.

For exiting games copy / paste the following script in the "Running Script" tab:

$Esc::
{
WinClose, ahk_exe {{{StartupEXE}}}
}

HELP! everytime i try to run pro drivin sea rally it says missing files plus launchbox doesnt have any files for me help pls

LB will never have game files the user has to find those.

What files is it say you are missing?

Can you run the rom directly in the emulator without using LB?

Did you try to download another rom for the game to test if the one you have is bad?
