Tackett1980
Like the title says. I’m looking for a efficient way to organize some of my arcade games. Here is what I would like to accomplish, I’m just not sure how to go about doing it: I currently have the standard arcade platform with the mame .218 romset with some, but not all, CHDs. I have a windows platform with sf4, 5, umvc3, and mkxl. I have a sega Naomi platform with the Naomi 1 set. first, I would like to combine these platforms into one platform called “Arcade”. secondly, I would like to hide the obscure arcade games that no one plays. (There one that is paper, rock, scissors for gods sake) so that I can basically have Just the more popular titles available. However I would like to have a way to view those games in case someone comes over and asks if I have xyz obscure game, I can say here let’s see. The thought of doing this individually sounds painful. Anyone have a good idea how to do this?
Headrush69
You can add any game into the Arcade platform, just make sure after switching it points to the appropriate emulator still and hasn't switch to the default for that platform. I group all Arcade roms together regardless of whether it uses MAME, Supermodel 3, Sega Model 2, Sammy Atomiswave, Daphne LaserDisc, etc. Basically if it's an arcade machine it's in that platform. I do it for the simple reason when people come over and they trying to find a game they remember, they have no clue what "other" platform it would be in. You can hide games by using bulk editor or in each game details. If you want to see them at some point just select View Hidden Games from View menu. I’m doing this right now but man is it tedious, going through all these one at a time will take me months.. if you can add any game into arcade platform, What about steam games? i have umvc3, sf4, sf5, and mortal kombat xl that I would like to put into arcade along with all the Naomi roms. Select all the games, right click and select use bulk edit. Then switch the Platform. If you haven't changed them yet, I find selecting each platform first and right clicking and add a playlist named after that Platform. Then do the step above. This is handy if you ever want to switch back or change to a different emulator just for those roms. SO for example I have a Teknoparrot playlist, but they are all in the Arcade platform, If some new better emulator comes out, I can select them all in that playlist and bulk edit rather than going through all the Arcade plartform that is a mix of Teknoparrot, JConfig, MAME, m2emulator, supermodel, etc,
Frogmush
I am also looking for a way to access the built in Arcade Genre's without switching my default view to Platform Genre's. Can you change the default view of just the arcade platform and not all the platforms? I still want my initial launch screen to show Platforms only but when i go into Arcade I'd like it to then show genres

For instance: big box boots up and into the default platforms/systems view, then I select arcade Then I see a list of arcade game playlists. is that possible? You can set playlists to show anywhere you like. In launchbox right click a playlist and edit, go to the parents tab, and check the box's for where you want it to show up. You need to be in platform category mode first.

It looks like it’s default set up to appear under arcade but when I click “arcade” in big box...it’s still a wall of games. Maybe it’s theme related?
