parkerbird Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Guys i need some help, Am currently running Batocera in my cabinet because 99% of the my mame collection works. I really want to be able to use Launchbox / bigbox, but nothing will launch inside of Mame, running mame directly it works fine All paths are setup correctly, bios in in roms folder. Am getting so hacked off. Please can some one help ? Quote

This is where it should be. If you use MameUI you will notice that offshoot for some reason puts in in the Ini folder. Because of this LB has issues with MameUI as the ini should be in the root and we typically have to let users know to move the file. Quote

Used the full mame import as well You do have a full mame rom set correct? If it runs in Mame directly and not in LB that is usually a good sign a setting is messed up. Can you provide a few more pics. 1: Show the Associated Platforms tab of the edit emulator screen for Mame. 2: Right click a game and edit it. Show an image of that edit screen with the Launcher Tab showing and a second pic with the Emulation tab showing. Quote

I've attached whats listed in my roms directory, i've got roms and bios in there, which i believe it right ? Perfect example double dragon (Japan) works fine in Mame, but when launched in Launchbox (not big box) it trys to load then just drops me to launch box Uploaded a video of me trying to launch a game, you cant see it very well, but Mame pops up with "initializing", then drops me back Thank you for your help so far Roms dir.txt screen-recorder-fri-jun-12-2020-10-45-11.webm Edited June 12, 2020 by parkerbird Quote

neil9000 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 In your video MAME isnt even trying to load by the looks of it, you are just getting the Launchbox startup screen then dropped back to Launchbox. If you right click a game and choose "open MAME" does the emulator actually open? Also looking at your images, you seem to have the emulator buried quite deep in the folder structure, so it could be a path length issue. Also do you have any non English language accents anywhere in the path to the emulator? Quote

There are a list of languages in the language folder and i've set them via the ini. i dont need them but am clutching and straws here Quote

I actually meant in Windows itself, are you using English or another language? Do any of the folders in your path to the emulator have accents in them, like maybe C:/Users/your name here, but your name is maybe French or something and uses a accent over a letter? Quote
neil9000 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Also your rom text file you provided is no where near a full set, it only has 982 entrys. So Launchbox could be trying to load a rom you dont have as default. You shouldnt use the fullset importer if you dont have a fullset. Quote

So going forward, i'm going to delete my current rom set and now downloading the Mame 202 rom set, will clean launchbox up and start the process again, which i'm sure i'll reply the results some time tomorrow lol Thanks again for your help Quote
