Cid7
Hello everyone, I'm the OP of the "Pin-Locked Games" suggestion: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/5082/pin-code-option-to-unlock-certain Thank you so much for voting for this suggestion and all the other great suggestions from the other members of this nice and great community. It's really humbling to see my suggestion make it on the 2021 new features list. I'm really happy about this and I sincerely thank everyone to make this happen. As a final request to the awesome developers, please make the mechanism as "Lock" NOT only "hide" or at least an option for "Lock". I mean it will be great if we can see the game tile with everything related to it like the background and video and notes... etc.... but when we click on "Play" (when on BigBox mode) it will ask us for the pin code to unlock this game to be able to play it. And it should do that every time we select "Play" in the same game section. I think this is the best option for many of us. So please make it at least an option instead of hiding only. Many thanks again for everyone and best regards to all. 12 1
Retro808
Yeah, this was a feature requested as far back as 2017. So it is nice to see it finally make the cut to becoming a feature.
Cid7
Nice to know there's many members whom suggested this before I even know about Launchbox/ Bigbox. It's really an amazing and creative community and I'm glad to be a humble part of it. Thanks everyone.

I personally prefer to lock/ unlock the games instead of hiding them. 8
OhBoy
I personally would prefer hiding games, there’s so many games with porn covers that I want hidden when locked. I think we should have both options, to just lock, and to hide while lock.

eric77
I'll go to Lock/Unlock as a primary and essential option and Hide/Show as a secondary and extra option. I personally don't care about Hiding as much as Locking/Unlocking. But it's good to have it as an extra option for those who want to use it.

When I switch to one theme all games are shown even if they're hidden, when I switch to another theme all hidden games are hidden. If it’s already there on the theme level, it’s possible to do on the system level. A simple check box labeled something like “Hide blocked games while locked” would suffice to enable or disable the option. "A simple check box labeled something like “Hide blocked games while locked” would suffice to enable or disable the option" yes. this would be a very good implementation of both options. good point! kevin.k
Lock and Unlock for me. But it's also very nice and useful to have Hide option too ?
James Micheal
I agree with the majority on this one lock / unlock should be essential and hide as an extra option which can be useful in some scenarios 7
Pommel
Thanks for the original posting of this feature Cid! I think I prefer the hide option myself but even getting locked would be welcomed. Worst case if you are worried about covers and locked is decided I suppose you could put together a playlist by esrb rating for the locked material and scan them all, removing box art that is too dicey.
Raphael
1- Lock/ Unlock with pin menu is the way to go. 2- Hide/ Show can be a check box as an extra option for these locked games. 3- Everyone happy! 10
Pyrog
This is the only feature I have found to be lacking in BigBox thus far. I'm in the same boat of wanting my kids to experience the joy of retro gaming while not simultaneously having to awkwardly have a sex ed conversation after the inevitable siting of scantily clad women on box covers 😑. If I could simply rely on the lock feature to lock down only my hidden games, the problem would be solved. Excellent software by the way. It is a hell of a lot more fun than the business WPF applications that I've programmed.
