Black screen on video

Hi, my startup video and full screen videos in BigBox result in a black screen the first time they are played each launch. The second time they load ok.

I'm using VLC as the video plugin, does anyone know what could be causing this?

I think it's "a thing".  Just be sure to [completely] load and exit BigBox once before your friends/family stop by.

I did try updating the klite media codec but it said that VLC doesn't use it so no idea how to troubleshoot.

Are your gpu drivers up to date?

This issue is very system specific and a little hard to get right sometimes. If you wait long enough, the video should always play, but getting the priorities perfect can be difficult. I assume it does play eventually if you just wait a bit?
