is there a way to make things easy for us to import games in our lunch box because is very annoying that I have to keep on importing each game for the PlayStation 3 emulator for big box did you guys know that their rpcs3 website carries all the information's and locations for their games including their ID numbers for there games and everything so is there anyway we can make LB to import All the games at once than doing it one by one and make LB A lot easier than forcing us to keep on taking it to the eboot.bin ?

PS

because it's very frustrating an annoying that I have to keep on adding one game at a time for lunch box to read the PlayStation 3 games it's really annoying can you please find a way or make it happen where we take our life easier for the PlayStation 3 games

I have never used this but just downloaded and his instructions are pretty clear. There are not two of the same name in that file. There is the folder he tells you to use and a second folder called Source that you do not mess with. Are you sure you are looking at the right file and steps?

Below is exactly from his post. This is about as simple as things get.

How to use:

If you used the previous version, delete it.

Download this: PS3GameImporter.zip

Right click on zip file. Properties, security, unblock.

Extract the FOLDER named "PS3GameImporter" to "Launchbox\Plugins\".

Start LB, tools, import ps3 game.

This is a great plugin, thanks for adding it!

Backstory:
Due to RPCS3 not being compatible with .iso files, PS3 games need to be in extracted folders for them to load.
When importing via Tools->Import->Rom Files, LaunchBox would try to import all the thousands of files in the game folder directories (PS3_GAME, PS3_UPDATE).  This plugin fixes this by only importing the underlaying game into LaunchBox.
Only caveat I found is that you need to create the Sony Playstation 3 platform in LaunchBox before running the plugin.

You no longer need a plugin to import PS3 games. Just use the ROM import and add the folder all your other game folders exist in and the import will handle the rest.

Does bulk importing games into LB require that they already be added (disc based) or installed (PKG files) into RPCS3 before attempting to import them?  Is there a tutorial or vid that addresses this since LB was updated to allow bulk imports?  I'm fairly familiar w/ the emulator.  But, using LB in conjunction with RPCS3 is unique compared to other consoles I have set up within the frontend.

You hit on a key phrase... "using LB in conjunction with RPCS3 is unique compared to other consoles". ;)  Though, it's almost actually easier.

Introduced in version 13.15

  • New Feature: Added support for automatic import of RPCS3 games that have been added into its virtual hard drive, when the RPCS3 emulator is added into LaunchBox and the Automatic Import of ROMs is enabled

A demo can be found in the 13.15 release video.

Thank you!  This will be very helpful.  As far as PSN games installed by PKG, will they need to be manually installed in RPCS3 before LB will import them?  Also, is there a different folder path that LB will utilize when compared to other consoles that boot from single ISO files?  I have my PS3 rips organized nicely into two separate folders:

LaunchBox\Games\Sony Playstation 3\EBOOT & Disc

LaunchBox\Games\Sony Playstation 3\PSN Games

Will selecting the option to move games during the import process mess up my organized games?  Since I spent a lot of time organizing, I want to be certain that I don't lose my work 😅

Very nice work!  It's impressive how passionate and devoted the LB team is to the project.

Based on the quote and in the video, yes.  LaunchBox gets the info of what to import direct from what RPCS3 has been installed in RPCS3.

Don't do that.  Select 'Keep the games in their original location'.  Think to yourself, "Why would I want to move them when I spent so much time organizing them so nicely?" ;)

Thanks for the info.  You definitely confirmed my suspicions 😁
