Importing 2nd MAME set

I just want to import a second MAME set, not complete, only my favorite games, around 1300 games. I want to use a v210 set to be able to export it to an Android setup.

Is that possible via a complete full set import in LaunchBox, and if so, does it get merged with my existing new set or does it copy the games to a different directory?

After the export to Android it will be deleted again.

You cannot use the Mame Full Set import option for incomplete rom sets. You have to use the File or Folder import option or Drag & Drop the files into LB.

The Full Set import option does not really import files. It reads the Mame.xaml from Mame and in LB lists all the games marked "playable" according to the Mame.xaml. So if you use it on a partial set you get all the games listed and not just those in your partial set.

Ok, I did that, but obviously a lot of games don't get scraped with the correct metadata as LB doesn't recognize the zip file names.

Why does it not cross check with the existing MAME games in my database? ROM names are the same.

Or is there now one easy way I could do this instead of going through them all one by one?

Did you use the Import ROMs (File or Folder) or do the Drag & Drop method?

Regardless, LaunchBox will recognize zip file names.  Especially since they're the same as your other set.  Is it the Media and Metadata that's not getting scraped?  Or is it "a lot of the games" aren't getting imported?  I'm guessing the latter because LB does cross check your existing MAME games and doesn't import those [again].  Unless you tell it to Force importing duplicate games.

If that's not the case, oops. My bad. :D
