Finishing touches on the setup

Hello, I am wondering if someone can help me with some rough edges on my existing setup. I am running LaunchBox with RetroArch on a PC connected to a TV with a 8Bitdo Ultimate C 2.4g Wireless Controller. I am hoping that this can run like an appliance, but I am not sure if it will work without the keyboard and mouse hooked up to it (which is a bit of a bummer). I have a couple of questions.

When I run a game, and LB launches retroarch, I have no idea how to quit the game back to LB. Do I need a special button mapping? Mashing buttons I can get it to get me back to retroarch and then I am stuck.

When I am in LB, I have access to lots of games, what is the easiest, controller oriented way, of getting to the game I want? Do I need some sort of software keyboard installed to use Search?

Thanks,

Judd

In LB options go to controller bindings. Set your controller button combo for Exit.

Next edit the RA emulator settings within LB. You'll need to set a Auto-Hotkey (AHK) for game running. This can be found here on the LB forums. This will basically link your button combo for Exit to the ESC key which is the default RA shutdown key. Search the forums for "RetroArch AHK exit"

I will give this a shot. Thank you.

One follow on. Is there a button that is not used, that I can reliably map to exit? I am looking at mostly NES and SNES games with an 8bitdo controller. Note that this is a gift for an enthusiast gamer, I am not that enthusiast gamer 😉

Best thing is to set a button combo for exit. Like Start + Select.
