vader545
I am able to contol Big Box, without issue; I am able to control Dolphin without issue. However, once I am done playing a Dolphin game (specifically Nintendo GameCube) I am unable to control Big Box again unless I restart my PS4 controller. Once I restart the controller, I gain perfect access to Big Box. If this helps when I first boot up Big Box my PS4 controller LED is white, when I launch Dolphin it turns blue. Controler setup. PS4 controller. Dolphin Settings: Set in Dolphin as Standard controller, in Config set as SDL/0/PS4 Controller All other functions work perfectly for the rest of my emulators. Any help you can provide would be awesome! Edited June 9 by vader545
fromlostdays
This is probably more complicated than what I'm about to say considering the color change on the controller, but sometimes when an emulator closes it looks like bigbox is in the foreground, but its not. In other words, try to replicate this issue, and instead of restarting your controller, just click bigbox once with your mouse (to bring it to the foreground), then try the controller. This isn't a solution, but it'll help determine what the actual problem is, and what it isn't. Edited June 9 by fromlostdays
cpujunkie
Maybe dolphin is changing the controller order? Hence the color change. Does input work in dolphin for your controller? There is also the setting in big box to allow all controllers to control big box, not just player 1. After all that I think dolphin is re initializing the controller in sdl mode, the controller turns blue. After exiting is the light still blue or does it go back to white? No, the controller stays blue until I turn off the controller, then back on again.

vader545
OK, just tried the following: Opened up Big Box (controller white), Launched a GameCube game using Dolphin (controller turns blue). Then I closed the game/emulator, then BB and the controller is still blue. It's like Dolphin takes control of the gamepad, but does not let go. cpujunkie
How are you using the controller? USB or wireless? What apps/programs are you using for the PS4 controller? Steam input, ds4, rewasd, etc?

vader545
Small update. I have found out that Windows uses Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator for controllers. So, if I can figure out how to write a batch file to restart this service via AHK that should fix my issue. To the Googleweb!
fromlostdays
Another option is to get a wrapper program. Steam and last time I checked a while ago DS4Windows both basically turn a PS controller into an Xbox controller (native xinput), which is better supported in general than what I'm guessing is Dinput for Playstation controllers.

I think that did it, just reinstalled DS4Windows and I can use both Dolphin and Big Box. Thanks for your help!
