Hi everyone,

The first beta for 1.15 has been released.

You can opt into the beta within LaunchBox for Android by going into Option and turning on the Update to Beta Releases option. If a beta release is available, you will get prompted each time the app opens up.

Full Changelog: https://www.launchbox-app.com/android-about/change-log

Beta 1:

  • Dolphin can now be automatically downloaded and installed when launching a Nintendo GameCube or Nintendo Wii game (if it's not installed already); this makes it super easy to get up and playing without the need for a user to set up Dolphin separately
  • The "Manage RetroArch" section has now been changed to "Manage Emulators", and just like RetroArch, you can now download, install, and update Dolphin with a touch of a button
  • Full emulator support added for: MelonDS, and MelonDS Nightly
  • A Stretch Background Videos setting has been added to both Platform View Settings and Game View Settings

Beta 2:

  • A new method of adding custom emulators has been added. Use the "Custom Emulator (With Code)" option, within your Emulator Settings, which can leverage existing emulator launch code from other frontends
  • Managing your Android app library has become easier! A new "Manage Apps" section lets you choose which apps appear within LaunchBox. Find it under the Android platform menu or the Options menu
  • Sorting by Star Rating is now more accurate. When your games lack personal ratings, LaunchBox will use community star ratings to sort
  • LaunchBox now gracefully handles your library in a less destructive way when exceeding the 100-game limit without a license
  • Resolved an issue with the Dolphin integration, introduced in beta 1, caused by recent changes to Dolphin's website and app version handling

Thanks to everyone willing to help us beta test these releases.

Any additional word on when we can expect Vita support?

It's on our list, but it will be a while before we can get to it as it requires a number of dependencies to be in place before that emulator can be tackled. It will also require a special import process that's different than anything else we currently have right now.

Can we expect a guide here (or on the YouTube channel) so that amateurs like me could check out the feature?

Thank you guys for the update; we appreciate everything you do.

One thing I noticed is my Android library through LaunchBox went missing after the update. Wasn't sure if there was a manual way to reinstall it

Hello! You can enable the "Show Android Apps" option on the Options page. Then click the "Manage Android Apps" option and add the games you want to see inside the Android section.

Let us know if this helped you. Thanks
