vahacris
What is the easiest way to duplicate a selected platform from a collection? I wanted to separate PC Engine from TurboGrafx-16. In my collection I have TurboGrafx-16 with games from PC Engine and TurboGrafx together. All descriptions and categories manually edited and refined, all media selected and completed. Now I would like to duplicate this platform to have two separate ones - PC Engine and TurboGrafx with the same content (games, descriptions, media, etc.) and then manually remove games that are not from a given platform. What is the easiest way to do this? Any ideas?
Kefka2b
@AstroBob probably the same thing I was trying to achieve with light gun games.

Select the games from the one that needs to change (can hold CTRL and select multiple) and then press CTRL+E to open the edit window and change them to the new platform. Doing so will change the platform they are associated with and move the media accordingly.

It hep a lot... but not solve the problem completly ;] There are a few games that I want to duplicate as they are on both platforms, so they should stay in one platform and should be also copied to another. Any idea how to obtain this?

Any idea how to obtain this? That's funny. I've been doing this too the past couple of weeks Spoiler I thought that for some consoles that are more or less the same, but named differently and has regional differences (Mark III/SMS, Genesis/Mega Drive, NES/Famicom, TGX16/PCE etc.) I would prefer to have them as their own platforms, especially since they have slightly different cartridges and different logos and emumovies has separate videos for them as well. And to be honest some Japanese covers are just so much cooler than the Western ones. And third, it's easier to go through games when they are not mixed up. Anyway. Like you I had to think what to do with the games that were available in all regions. The way I managed to do it was to use the "batch remove additional apps" plugin to remove all those automatically added regional version (ie. having in the US entry JP/EU versions as additional apps). With that, LB didn't think them as duplicate when importing to the "newly created" platforms. Then I just imported the roms and selected *japan* for example in the search field to get only those I wanted. Maybe that could work for you too? So short story: you have to import them as new entries to the other platforms. I don't recall there being a "copy" option. What is the easiest way to do this? Any ideas? I was lucky enough to find this service. because here I was able to book a high-quality and cool tour to Chernobyl - https://chеrnobylstory.com/ . I have been dreaming of going to Chernobyl for a long time, and thanks to this high-quality and cool service, I can finally do it! So I recommend it to you as well, because this service is really very cool and high-quality! The easiest way is to export the TurboGrafx-16 platform to a file, then re-import it as a new platform. Rename the duplicate to PC Engine and make edits from there. Once imported, you can manually delete the games that don't belong to each platform. This ensures all your media, descriptions, and categories are retained.
