dragon57 Posted Thursday at 03:27 PM Posted Thursday at 03:27 PM Is the syntax for searching the Games DB posted anywhere? I use the search multiple times daily in my retro work and I have long struggled with knowing what syntax is acceptable. Most things are obvious and work just fine, but when I forget and paste a full game entry into the search field that has an actual + sign in it, I get a database error. Is there a way to include that plus sign as part of the search and not a search parameter? Quote

JoeViking245 Posted Thursday at 04:04 PM Posted Thursday at 04:04 PM In my one test (Donkey Kong Jr. + Jr. Lesson), simply removing the + symbol found the correct game right away. But that may not be the best example to provide a good "Stress Test" of the system. With the + symbol in place, a 404 - File or directory not found. error is what appears. Quote

Yes, you are totally correct. I just wish there was a way to not have the + sign throw that error. I perform probably 100 searches every day and while the majority do not have names from various No-Intro, Redump, etc. databases, more than a handful do. Thanks for the reply. Quote
